A century of service in the Rocky Mountain region

At RBC Wealth Management, we are proud to celebrate our 100-year anniversary of service in the Rocky Mountain region. Though our name has changed a few times since 1916, our values have remained the same—to serve our clients and community with integrity, teamwork, quality service and leadership. We have been fortunate to touch the lives of thousands of individuals and hundreds of diverse organizations through volunteering, sponsorships, and financial supportour in communities throughout the region. Here are a few highlights from our most recent efforts.

Boys & Girls Club Thanksgiving

Financial advisors, managers and associates in Colorado gathered to assemble and distribute Thanksgiving baskets to the families of 50 Club members at the Arthur E. Johnson Boys & Girls Club. The baskets included all the ingredients for a delicious holiday meal, including a turkey.

"We are extremely grateful to RBC Wealth Management for their partnership in this important endeavor," said Erin Porteous, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver. "This Thanksgiving, we aim to make the holiday season brighter for our Club members and their families. We deeply appreciate the dedicated volunteers from RBC and their commitment to our shared community."

Rappelling for cancer

Financial advisor Jim Scatena led a group of RBC colleagues in rappelling to support Cancer League of Colorado. The team raised more than $6,000 ahead of their 200-foot rappel over McGregor Square in Denver.

Boys & Girls Club Gates Camp

Rocky Mountain Complex employees, family members and Boys & Girls Clubs staff celebrate a successful cleanup day in Ward, Colorado.

Complex employees and family members spent a weekend morning volunteering at the scenic Boys & Girls Club Gates Camp in Ward, Colorado. Our team of volunteers helped with cleanup activities and fixes needed to help prepare the camp for the following season. The nearly 100-year-old Gates Camp hosts more than 500 inner-city children each summer as they experience hiking, fishing, archery, wildlife viewing, and other outdoor activities during a weeklong stay.

Led by Dan Ball and a team of volunteers from the Denver, Denver Tech Center, Boulder and Fort Collins offices, Gates Camp is ready for the coming season.

Boys & Girls "Scrub a Club"

Advisors and associates from RBC Wealth Management’s downtown Denver branch volunteered to “Scrub the Club” at the William E. Cope Boys & Girls Club. In organizing and deep-cleaning the art, reading, STEM and game rooms, volunteers helped prep the Cope Club for the 2023-2024 school year.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver

A team of RBC Wealth Management employees and family members recently helped host a Halloween party for kids at the Club’s Cope Branch near downtown Denver. The afternoon event featured holiday-themed games and healthy snacks.

Food Bank of the Rockies

The RBC Wealth Management Rocky Mountain Complex once again served as co-sponsor of the Joe and Debbie Sakic Bringing Hope to the Table event to benefit Food Bank of the Rockies. The event, chaired by Denver Tech Center Senior Vice President and Financial Advisor Mark Boshoven, helped raise enough money to provide 1 million meals to young people in need throughout the Rocky Mountain region.

2018 marked the 20th year for the event and RBC Wealth Management has been a part of each and every one of the fundraisers.

Founded in 1978 in Denver, Food Bank of the Rockies has extended its reach across Colorado and southern Wyoming, providing food and supplies to more than 600 hunger-relief programs. In 2018, the Food Bank of the Rockies network distributed nearly 66 million pounds of food – enough to provide more than 145,000 meals each day to children, seniors and families in need.

Thanks to donations and significant volunteer hours, 96 cents of every dollar received by Food Bank goes directly to food distribution programs.

Funding the Future

RBC Wealth Management sponsored a Funding the Future financial literacy show for an audience of 4,000 high school students and 1,000 educators at the 2023 Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference at Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Denver, Colorado. Funding the Future is a nonprofit organization that sends rock bands into middle schools and high schools to play a regular set then talk about financial literacy. The music helps the medicine go down.

We are also reaching out to communities far and wide with relevant programs to inspire, educate and delight. Feeding our neighbors

Employees across the Rocky Mountain Complex came together to lend a helping hand, volunteering more than 250 hours to fight hunger in our local communities. Our employees also donated food for the cause as well helping our neighbors in need.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to give back to the communities where we live and work. We thank you for your confidence in us, and we look forward to continuing to serve you.
