Time is the only truly finite resource we have. Allison believes you want to spend it with the people you love, doing what you love — not buried in spreadsheets or second-guessing whether you’re actually on track. That’s where she comes in.
Allison Small knows what it means to compete at the highest level — and what it takes to build something that lasts beyond it. As a former Division I goaltender at Syracuse University, Allison earned multiple CHA honors including Goalie of the Year and Student Athlete of the Year, won two CHA Championships, and competed in two NCAA Tournament appearances. That experience didn’t just shape her as an athlete — it shaped the way she approaches financial planning: with discipline, preparation, and the same competitive drive she once brought to the crease.
Today, Allison serves as a Financial Advisor at RBC Wealth Management in NY. She believes every client deserves an advisor who truly fits their life — and she specializes in working with athletes, entertainers, social media influencers, and young professionals who are looking for someone to walk through each phase of their financial lives, not just a plan that sits on a shelf. She creates a customized financial roadmap that lives and breathes with clients, backed by a set check-in schedule and an annual wealth plan review, so the plan stays aligned as life changes. Whatever season a client is in — navigating a new contract, an influx of income from a sponsorship opportunity, an unexpected inheritance, or a major life event — Allison creates certainty in the uncertain moments and walks alongside them through each part of the journey.
Her approach is principles over predictions, strategy over speculation — plans built for real life, not perfect projections. Allison brings the same discipline and preparation to a client’s financial plan that she brought to competing, sharpened by the analytical rigor of her Master of Public Administration from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. But just as important, she genuinely wants to be part of a client’s financial life, not just manage it from a distance.
Allison holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation, a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, and the Sports & Entertainment Accredited Wealth Management Advisor (SE-AWMA®) designation. She works as an individual advisor, backed by RBC Wealth Management’s full platform — giving clients a personal relationship with the resources of a global firm behind it.
Outside of work, Allison stays rooted in the athletic community as a youth hockey coach and remains deeply connected to Syracuse — the city where her own competitive journey began. Originally from Nestleton, ON, she now lives in the Tipp Hill neighborhood with her fiancé, Mark, and their black Lab puppy, Dice.
