Ben Tener’s interest in wealth management began early at age 12 when he bought and repaired a used tractor to start a neighborhood mowing & landscaping business. Within a couple of years and under the mentorship of a local business owner, Ben was mowing roughly 20 acres a week during the growing season in Oakton, VA. With guidance from his father, who opened a custodial account, Ben invested his earnings monthly. By the time he was 18 he had enough to cover his college expenses and more.
Ben’s commitment to hard, hands-on work, rain or shine, also paid off academically. He graduated on the Dean’s List from both Gonzaga College High School and the University of Virginia.
Shortly after graduation, trailblazing RBC Financial Advisor Judy Ramey hired Ben as an intern, where he worked alongside Oliver Crandall. Ben quickly passed the FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities exams, and earned his life and health insurance licenses. In 2023, Ben became a Certified Financial Planner® professional, passing a rigorous examination that covers wealth management, tax planning, insurance, retirement planning, estate planning, and other crucial personal finance topics.
Ben combines customized strategic thinking and attention to detail in his approach to wealth management. He appreciates each client’s uniqueness and helps deliver a well-crafted financial plan, founded on trust and understanding of individual goals.
