Cyd is a first vice president – financial advisor at the Monterey, California office of RBC Wealth Management. The office was formed with six Bay Area advisors moving to this key location in 2012. Her focus is to act as a financial GPS for family and individual clients: to discover where they are now, where they want to go and how to get them there as efficiently and safely as possible. Cyd’s approach to moderating risk in order to meet clients’ goals was greatly influenced by the Wharton School’s Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) program that she completed in 2001. Cyd started her career in financial services in 1984 with Shearson American Express. She joined Piper Jaffray in 1994, then RBC Dain Rauscher in 2006. She has held management positions at both Piper Jaffray and RBC. Cyd is a third-generation Californian, inspired to play basketball by her height and her dad—the coach. She played post for the UCLA and San Jose State women’s basketball teams, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from San Jose State in 1983.
In 2012, Cyd and her partner moved from San Francisco to Monterey, where they became the proud owners of a historic Spanish revival Mills Act home. She is actively involved with both the Women’s Athletics and English literature programs at California State University Monterey Bay. Among her interests beyond sports: geology of the American Southwest and the archaeology of historic cultures. “Travel is the classroom I love most!”
