I am a Vice President - Financial Advisor and a member of the Portfolio Manager Group within the fee-based Portfolio Focus® discretionary platform. I also work with regular full-service brokerage accounts, retirement plan sponsors, life and long-term care clients, as well as with businesses having commercial lending needs.
Providing financial services has been in my family since the 1890s. Betts, Borland & Company, once Chicago’s oldest member firm of the New York Stock Exchange, provided financial services to investors from 1896 until 1970. A graduate of The Colorado College with a degree in Business/Economics, I began my career in 1984 working for the investment advisory division of Bacon, Whipple & Co. (now a part of Stifel Financial), then as a registered representative at William Blair & Co. for seven years, and later as an advisor for the investment advisory division of LaSalle St. Securities.
A charter holder of the Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA®) designation since 2001, I am also a member of the CFA Society Milwaukee and a former member of the CFA Society Chicago from 1992 to 2021. In 2006 I earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) professional designation which was awarded by the Center for Fiduciary Studies for successful completion and fulfillment of ongoing accredation requirements in the formal training of investment fiduciary responsibility.
I am also licensed to sell life insurance, annuities, and long-term care policies that may be a part of appropriate wealth management strategies.
My wife and I grew up and resided in the city of Lake Forest, Illinois where we raised four now grown children with whom we loved to travel, ski, worship and do yard and local volunteer work. We are now residents of New Berlin, WI and enjoy all the benefits of living near downtown Milwaukee.
