Vice President - Branch Director

I began my career in the investment industry in 1972 while attending the University of Oregon. I worked with clients first from the administrative side of the industry, and since 1993 I have been helping clients achieve their financial goals by planning and managing their investment portfolios.

I have completed extensive curricula over the years to acquire and retain my Securities License, Uniform Securities Agent State Law License, Uniform Investment Advisor Law License, General Securities Sales Supervisor License and the Oregon Insurance license.

From February 1996 to 2006 I was Branch Director of Ragen MacKenzie, where I had active supervisory responsibilities for legal and compliance matters. I have served in a similar role at RBC Wealth Management as Branch Director of Eugene since 2007.

Markets change over time. Your life and your needs may change, as well. So I regularly monitor the performance of your wealth management plan and check in with you periodically to make sure that you have a clear picture of your finances and that I still understand your financial objectives.

I currently serve on the Board of Directors for the Women's Association of Financial Advisors, and in January 2014 I was interviewed in "Open For Business" magazine, which promotes women in business.

Born and raised in Eugene, I now live just outside of the city with my husband. We have three adult children and two granddaughters. I enjoy being active outdoors. My interests outside of work include spending time with family and friends, working with my horses, skiing, walking my dogs in the country and gardening.

After military service and some years in banking, I began my investment career in 1974. I joined Dean Witter in 1981, where I was Vice President and Branch Manager for several years. In 1997, I moved my practice to Ragen MacKenzie. I served as Vice President and Financial Consultant there for nine years before joining RBC Wealth Management in 2006. My proprietary Portfolio Planning techniques have evolved from my experiences at several key investment firms.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Finance and Economics) and I was awarded the Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) certification by The College for Financial Planning. I attained RBC Wealth Management’s Director’s Council for “outstanding achievement and excellence” in 2008.

I am happily married to Janet; together we have raised a wonderful family, including a fun collection of grandchildren. I believe strongly in giving to the community, particularly to those least fortunate among us who need our help, and was honored to receive from the White House the President’s Volunteer Service Award in 2009.

I am an amateur musician, and I enjoy playing guitar and singing. Finally, I am a private pilot, and I love to fly our 1977 Grumman Tiger 4-seat airplane whenever time and weather permit.

I joined RBC Wealth Management in April of 2017 after more than 16 years in the industrial coatings business. This included an extensive background in sales and operational management, which provided me with a foundation of understanding business structures, acquisitions, and profitability analysis. While I am originally from Eugene, I spent a good portion of my career out in the field serving clients across the United States, Canada, China and Europe. This offered me the unique experience of helping people from various cultural, social and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Throughout my career I have focused on building relationships to develop long-term partnerships. My personal vision as a wealth advisor is to be recognized as authentic, honest, and creative in helping clients plan for their financial objectives. This philosophy includes pairing personal analysis with the latest planning tools RBC has to offer.

I graduated from Boston College in 2000, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. I returned to the West Coast following graduation to be closer to family and begin my career. While living in Portland for a number of years, I met my wife, Jill. She and I moved back to Eugene in 2014 and welcomed our first child, Grace, in the fall of 2016. We enjoy traveling, cooking and fitness.

In addition to my personal hobbies I also believe it is important to be active in the community. I served as co-chair for the 2016 Marist High School Auction, and have been involved with coaching youth basketball since 2000.

Much like a diversified investment portfolio, I believe that a well-balanced life between work, family and values is the key to success and stability.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Northwest Christian University.  Shortly after graduating I started my career at Morgan Stanley not really understanding the investment industry.  While working there I obtained my Series 7 license and found that I had a real passion for learning about investments and for providing exceptional customer service. I truly enjoy getting to speak with and to help our clients on a daily basis.  After leaving Morgan Stanley, I worked for a local Credit Union for several years before joining RBC Wealth Management in April of 2006.

My husband and I live in Springfield, Oregon and have three children and one grandson.  In my personal time I enjoy cooking, reading a good book, watching a good romantic movie and spending time with my family and friends.

A college internship launched my career into the administrative side of the investment world, and after graduating from the University of Oregon I’ve held several positions as Executive Assistant to real estate investors in Portland, corporate investment bankers in New York City, and financial advisors in southern California. Most recently I was the Practice Administrator for a group of trauma surgeons in Portland, Oregon.

My husband Garrett and I returned home to Eugene in 2014 to be closer to our families, and I was honored to join the Hannah/Hoselton Group at RBC in October of 2014. It is a privilege to work with such a great team, assisting them in the areas of client relations and practice management.
