Qualifications and professional history
Although Jim has been working since the age of thirteen, he began his professional career upon graduating from LaSalle University more than 35 years ago. Initially working for a regional accounting, investment management and financial planning firm, Jim moved on to become the CFO and COO of a Philadelphia-based securities company where he garnered extensive knowledge and experience in investments, economic and market conditions, and as a business leader and manager.
After almost ten years, Jim left to open and lead an investment company that specialized in the fixed income markets, providing products and services to individuals, businesses and professional investment managers of all types and sizes. In 2006, Jim joined Commerce Capital Markets (later acquired by TD Bank) and was a member of its management committee while heading the sales, trading and underwriting groups. Prior to joining RBC Wealth Management in 2016, he worked at Oppenheimer & Company.
Throughout his career, Jim has worked servicing the investment needs of individuals, families, and business owners while continuing to work with larger institutional clients. His diverse background and demonstrated record of achievement in the financial services industry uniquely qualifies him to be a valued advisor to clients in need of a sophisticated approach to their wealth management plans.
Jim has been a registered representative since 1986 and currently holds the Series 7, 24, 27, 53, 63 and 65 licenses.
Personal background
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Jim graduated from Northeast Catholic High School (1978) and LaSalle University (1982) where he earned a Bachelor of Administration degree in accounting and finance. He is involved in a number of community activities supporting groups such as The Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and The Philadelphia Police Athletic League. Jim resides in Moorestown, New Jersey, with his wife and dog. Their grown son and extensive family are in the area as well. Jim enjoys traveling, the beach and the arts. He is an avid golfer, and most importantly, enjoys spending time with his family.
