With more than 30 years of financial services experience, Joe has developed an approach to investing that goes beyond planning and strategic allocation, to include daily quantitative analysis. He believes that this emphasis allows for more portfolio flexibility and timely adaptations that can potentially improve financial results. Joe focuses not only on investment strategies, but also on building long-term relationships with clients through one-on-one meetings and discussions.
Beginning his career with Smith Barney in 1987, then later with Interstate/Johnson Lane Inc., Joe eventually moved to Wachovia Securities, a Wells Fargo Advisors predecessor firm, in 1994. Joe joined RBC Wealth Management in 2017 and is a member of RBC Wealth Management’s Director’s Council. The Directors’s Council award annually recognizes employees for outstanding performance and professional growth, and demonstrating leadership in client service.
Joe holds securities and insurance registrations in numerous states, and is a designated Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor℠ (CRPC®). He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin, and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Kentucky.
Joe and his family have resided in Raleigh for more than 30 years and are active in the community. While raising his two sons, Joe coached and actively followed their many athletic pursuits. He is a past president of the North Durham Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. He is also involved with Health Transitions and the North Carolina Art Museum. In his spare time, Joe enjoys being outdoors, golfing, swimming, and working out.
