An empowered approach

Our goals-based wealth planning approach is designed to ultimately help you achieve your vision and live empowered. Working together, we identify strategies to help grow your wealth, fund your lifestyle today and tomorrow, protect what's important to you and create your legacy.

Our approach features four financial pillars to help guide you through your life stages:

Accumulate and grow your wealth

Working toward tomorrow, define your goals, plan, save and invest. Review your finances regularly. Build and maintain an emergency fund of at least six months of expenses. As you approach retirement, take advantage of catch-up contributions and align investments to offset inflation. In your encore years, review and understand the probable outcome of your wealth plan and consider consolidating accounts to simplify your financial life.

Fund your lifestyle

In the early stages, avoid or eliminate unproductive debt. Fund but defer health savings account spending until retirement. Approaching retirement, create a retirement plan for your paycheck as well as a budget for your expenses. In your later years, plan for your distributions and manage your spending to cover your needs.

Protect what's important to you

At first, evaluate and consider your options for various types of insurance, ranging from health, disability, life and long-term care insurance. Closer to retirement, re-evaluate your insurance needs and use credit strategically. Enroll in Medicare at 65 and claim Social Security at 70. Avoid selling assets in down markets. Discuss your care wishes with your loved ones.

Create your legacy

Establish a will, power of attorney, health care directive and revocable trust. Check your beneficiary designations. Consider a charitable giving plan that aligns with your values. Near retirement, revisit your estate planning documents and beneficiary designations. Have plans for housing and care needs. After retiring, check that your estate plan aligns with your wishes. Understand your estate and gift tax thresholds.

The Keith, Carr Wealth Management Group 3-step process

Step 1 - Discovery

Goal, Risk, Insurance, and Legacy Review

We seek to understand your goals, values, relationships, and financial realities. Review existing documents and beneficiaries to help ensure your legacy aligns with your intentions. Evaluate coverage across life, disability, long-term care and liability to help mitigate threats to wealth preservation. This foundational step informs every recommendation we make.

Step 2 - Strategy

Investment Proposal and Wealth Planning

Analyze your full financial picture - including cash flow, tax considerations, retirement readiness and more - to build a cohesive and actionable plan. Deliver tailored recommendations—including asset allocation, strategy selection, and portfolio design—in line with your plan.

Step 3 - Results

Guidance, Reviews, and Adjustments

Stay connected with proactive outreach, check-ins, education, and performance updates—all tailored to your communication preferences. Conduct regular reviews to rebalance based on life changes, market shifts, or evolving goals—keeping your plan dynamic and relevant.

Understanding why you are here

At Keith, Carr Wealth Management Group, every relationship begins with understanding why you are here; not just what you have. This meeting is an opportunity for you to share the most important part of our relationship: your story. We take the time to listen before we ever recommend anything. Recognizing meaningful advice starts with knowing what truly matters to you, your family and your future.

Additionally at the discovery meeting we can discuss:

  1. Things that will help shape your plan: business, accounts, real property, collectibles, cars, jewelry, art, boats etc.
  2. People that impact your life: family, friends, clients, colleagues, advisors, mentors, clergy etc.
  3. Ideas that inspire or concern you: opportunities, risks, fears, challenges, legacy, goals, values etc.
  4. Activities that you enjoy: professional, community, charity, hobbies, leisure, travel, political, spiritual etc.

What happens next

After the discovery meeting, we'll reflect on your story and draft a customized WealthPlan and summary.
