Maureen has dedicated her efforts to RBC Wealth Management for more than 20 years and founded the Kerrigan Mahoney Investment Group. An Accredited Wealth Manager, she is recognized for her advanced knowledge of wealth management processes, focusing on business and retirement planning, in addition to estate planning services for high-net-worth clients. She and her team work directly with their clients' attorneys and CPAs to help provide a properly implemented investment and estate planning strategy.
Maureen is a member of the Senior Portfolio Manager Group -- Portfolio Focus, a group of select advisors who have the experience, integrity and commitment to service to take full discretion over investment portfolios. She passed the Series 7 and 66 exams.
When considering the best aspects of her profession, Maureen cites the opportunity to work with people and help instill confidence that they can achieve their goals. She treats every relationship the same way she would want her parents and family treated. She believes in building long-term relationships and has had the privilege to work with multiple generations of families.
Her commitment to clients has been recognized with numerous industry awards. For four consecutive years since 2021, Maureen was named to the Forbes Top Women Wealth Advisors list in the U.S., as well as being ranked #3 on the 2023 and 2024 Forbes Top Women Wealth Advisors Rhode Island Best-In-State list.
Among her colleagues, she was recognized with the 2019 Women’s Association of Financial Advisors (WAFA) Gail Winslow Award, honoring women at RBC Wealth Management who demonstrate exemplary efforts to help attract, support and retain women clients and financial advisors.
Maureen is committed to personally investing in her community through educational programs and opportunities supporting younger generations. She currently serves on the executive board of the Star Kids Scholarship Program in Newport, Rhode Island. Through her efforts with the Star Kids, she was recognized in 2020 as one of three national finalists for Volunteer of the Year by the Invest in Others organization. Additionally, Maureen is an emeritus trustee of the Foundation for the Advancement of Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Hartford, where she served as president for four years. She has also devoted her time to the East Regional board for the RBC Foundation and is a past president of the RBC WAFA board.
Maureen earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from the University of Hartford and subsequently completed her MBA at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She and her husband live in Westerly, Rhode Island and have four grown daughters. The oldest, Courtney Mahoney, has worked alongside her since 2014. Appreciative of time spent relaxing with her family, Maureen treasures her title of “Nanny K” as daughter, Melanie, and son-in-law, Dean, welcomed twin daughters in 2019 and a son in 2022. Golfing and entertaining are top of the list with whatever spare time is left.
