Lori Keller

Lori started working in the investment industry in 1982, working for EF Hutton, Smith Barney, Blunt Ellis & Loewi, and finally joining RBC Wealth Management in 2000. During her 18-year tenure at RBC Wealth Management, she has been working with high-net-worth individuals and small businesses to help achieve their financial goals, as well as families desiring to build toward a retirement nest egg. Lori is committed to providing each and every one of our clients with the exceptional service they deserve. She holds the Series 7, 63 and 65 securities licenses, as well as life and health insurance licenses. She also is a recipient of the RBC Wealth Management Award of Excellence, and is a member of the Women’s Association of Financial Advisors (WAFA).

Together with her husband, Bill, they have six children and four grandchildren, and four granddogs. Lori is an avid tennis player and volunteers her time with the United States Tennis Association.

David Hillard

David has been helping clients navigate turbulent financial markets since 2000. Prior to serving clients at RBC Wealth Management, he was a branch manager and financial advisor at a global wealth management firm. He works with affluent families, businesses and non-profit organizations implementing comprehensive wealth growth and protection strategies. He was an early adaptor of financial risk mitigation techniques including structured investments, account aggregation and probability analysis. David is a past chairman of one of the top public pension plans in the country, the South Dakota Investment Council that managed nearly 13 billion dollars for 77,000 current and past South Dakota public employees. He has been recognized as a Barron’s Top 1200 Advisor in the USA since 2014 and achieved RBC Wealth Management’s Chairman’s Council, which includes the top 150 of financial advisors in the firm, since 2011. David has been the branch director for the Rapid City RBC Office since 2009 and has been a speaker at national firm strategy forums.

David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in political science with merit from the U.S. Naval Academy where he earned the Draper L. Kauffman Leadership Award at the U.S. Naval Academy. Previously, David was the second in command of the U.S. Naval Academy Brigade of Midshipmen, a Naval Aviator and Mine Countermeasures Tactics Instructor. He holds the Series 7, 9, 10, 31 and 66 securities licenses, and life and health insurance licenses. David and his wife, Carla, are members of World Vision’s National Leadership Council which is actively engaged in ending extreme poverty of a global scale. He is past-president of the Rapid City Economic Development Partnership and past-president of Working Against Violence, Inc.

David and Carla have six children and one granddaughter. Four are married to wonderful spouses including Phil, Catie, Courtney and John. Cydney and Camryn are still at home. In his rare free time, David enjoys kitesurfing, flying and hiking with his family. They have two dogs, Bella and Hudson. Bella is a chilled out Golden Retriever and Hudson is an Australian Labradoodle who will fetch tennis balls until he collapses.

Adam Haggerty, CFP®

Adam has worked in the financial services industry since 2004. Prior to joining RBC Wealth Management, he worked at a regional bank’s commercial loan department and a global wealth management firm. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Black Hills State University with a minor in computer applications systems management all while achieving the dean’s list. In 2008, after completing the extensive required curriculum, Adam earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. Adam also holds the Series 7 and 66 securities licenses, and life and health insurance licenses.

As a financial advisor, Adam develops customized wealth management plans and fixed income solutions based upon your objectives, resources and income needs. Adam also uses his banking experience to assist you in the management of your financial liabilities, minimizing your interest costs and maximizing your cash flow. He also focuses on family financial dynamics, working with your children and grandchildren to facilitate responsible management of inherited wealth. With proper information and education, an inheritance can move from being a one-time financial bonanza to a lasting legacy that will provide opportunity for future generations.

Adam strongly believes in giving back to his local and global community. He currently serves as treasurer of a local church and leadership council for International Students Incorporated and is the past president of Habitat for Humanity. When not serving his clients or the community, he loves to mountain bike on the beautiful trails of the Black Hills. Adam is married to Lauren and they have five children: Eliza, Nolan, Emmett, Solomon and Toby. They have one dog, Boona, a Heinz 57 purebred.

Saundra Shaw

Branch Service Manager/Investment Associate


Saundra has worked as a service award winning registered client associate since 1999. Previously, she was an investigative paralegal for the senior partner of a regional law firm. Saundra’s focus is on delivering to you an exceptional client service experience. She is responsible for the group’s daily administrative functions that directly enhance our clients’ investment experience. Saundra assists you with online account access, personal filing systems and bill automation. Her legal background helps ensure your accounts are properly titled throughout life events so that client tax minimization and wealth transfer are optimized. She has a tremendous work ethic and sincerely wants your experience as a client to be exceptional.

Saundra holds the Series 7 and 66 securities licenses as well as life and health insurance licenses. She is married to Barry and they have two children, Kelli and Leigh. In her free time, Saundra enjoys riding her Harley Davidson, landscaping, interior design and skiing. They have three dogs, Moose and Riley, who are Golden Retrievers and their newest addition, Stout a Bernese Mountain and Golden mix.

Michelle Sterkel

Michelle has worked in the financial services industry at a national wealth management firm since 1994 and with the Hillard Haggerty Group since 2011. She has also received national awards for her exceptional client service. She graduated from National American University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and she holds the Series 7 and 63 licenses.

Michelle’s focus is also on providing you with an exceptional client service experience. She does this through administrative support by performing critical and time sensitive functions such as new account opening, fund transfer, client education, online account access and retirement plan support. With her extensive financial industry experience, Michelle has a wealth of knowledge and takes pride in providing you with prompt personalized service and detail-oriented solutions.

Michelle is married to Paul and they have five grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys golfing, boating, fishing, traveling and spending time with her family.

Kahle Dame

Registered Client Associate


Kahle has worked in the financial services industry with a national wealth management firm since 2011 and joined the Hillard Haggerty Group in 2016. She helps prepare the comprehensive client reviews that provide you with a wealth of information on how your financial plan is progressing and the current positioning of your portfolio. Kahle has extensive experience in separately managed accounts and the handling of complex issues related to the transfer of investment assets upon the passing of a loved one. She attended Rio Salado Community College in Phoenix, Arizona, with a concentration in business and computer information systems and holds the Series 7, 63 and 65 securities licenses.

Married to Kristen, Kahle enjoys camping, fishing, travel, repurposing furniture and spending time with friends and family. They have two dogs, Lola and Lottie, a Chihuahua mix and Chow Pit Bull mix, who love to go on adventures with them.

Christine Mathews

Registered Client Associate


Christine is a former educator and Texas transplant who joined our group in 2017. She has both her Ph.D. in epidemiology and her Master’s degree in public health care from the University of Texas Health Science Center, and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Wheaton College. Christine was also an award- winning adjunct professor for the University of Texas. As a trained scientist with an expertise in analytics, she provides our group with an exceptional ability to analyze data, providing the inputs critical to the group’s portfolio management and wealth planning offerings.

Christine’s goal is to provide excellent service though conducting investment research, developing customized wealth management plans, and performing ongoing risk and return analyses on your portfolio. Christine also helps prepare the comprehensive client reviews that provide you with a wealth of information on how your wealth plan is progressing and the current positioning of your portfolio. She holds the Series 7 and 66 securities licenses.

Christine is married to Carl and they have two children, Carolyn and Clayton. In her free time, Christine enjoys exploring the Black Hills with her family, cooking Tex-Mex, knitting, sewing, and being both on and in the water whenever possible.

Krista Burns

Client Associate


Krista is a customer service specialist with more than 10 years of experience caring for clients. She relocated from Grand Junction Colorado and loves the Black Hills. Krista was also a licensed insurance specialist with a national insurance company.

Krista focuses on delivering exceptional client service, facilitating opening accounts, money movement, retirement plan support and ongoing client relations. She attended North Dakota State University with a concentration in accounting.

Krista is married to Brad and they have two children, Braden and Emma. In her free time, Krista enjoys watching multiple sporting events with a special interest in the University of Minnesota where Emma will play softball for the Gophers next fall. She also enjoys hiking, riding their Harley Davidson and spending time with her family. They have a Great Dane, Oakley, who loves to sit in small chairs.
