My Story:
I’ve always enjoyed working with numbers, and I developed an interest in the stock market when I purchased my first mutual fund at 16. My interest in investing only grew from there and led me to a career as a wholesaler for an investment company where financial advisors were my clients.
For a number of years I enjoyed partnering with advisors on educational seminars and workshops for their clients. One thing that always frustrated me though, was the lack of female financial advisors to partner with, and a lack of female clients that participated in these types of educational events. Not only are women vastly underrepresented in the financial services industry, but the industry is failing to truly connect with female clients, leaving them frustrated, confused, and anxious about their financial lives.
Which is why mission is to transform the financial experience for women by creating an environment where they can learn about their finances without intimidation – in a way that leaves them feeling inspired, excited and confident about their future.
Why Me?
As a woman working in an industry dominated by men, I have first-hand experience in how much more motivated and engaged a woman is when communication is effective, concise, and genuine. It allows us to feel valued, connected, and empowered, which reduces unnecessary stress and anxiety.
Therefore, my true value as a financial advisor, is to create an environment where you feel comfortable asking all your questions, feel confident in your understanding of the answers, and are assured in your preparedness for retirement and wealth transfer.
On a Personal Note:
In addition to my love of numbers and investing, I am passionate about my family, my faith, giving back to our local community, and photography. I live in West Des Moines with my husband Jesse and our three children: Austin, Annika, and Eleanore. We are active members of Valley Evangelical Free Church and enjoy serving both in Sunday School and Awana. I support several organizations, including Hope Ministries, Meals from the Heartland, and the Des Moines Playhouse.
