Welcome to learning more about me and my advisory practice! From a young age up through college and law school, I had a long informal education on the value of a hard-earned dollar through many part-time jobs from delivering papers and making bagels to working as an administrative assistant and interning with the New York Stock Exchange. I learned to balance various financial goals and weigh enjoying life in the present while at the same time putting aside savings for the future. I also started learning about stocks and investing during the heady days of the dot-com era. These experiences formed in me a strong recognition of savings as a resource to use to create freedom and flexibility to live the life you want. With this backdrop, throughout my formal education, I maintained an overarching goal: find a career that uses my financial knowledge as an Economics major and investor, provides for plenty of interaction with people, and forces me to stay curious and educate myself on new topics while incorporating them into my existing skill set. After a first career as defense lawyer representing advisors and brokers when they got in trouble, I found my lifelong career when I decided to find a better way to serve as a financial advisor and moved to the Berkshires with my family to pursue it. My business focuses on serving individuals and families as a personal CFO to ensure that all the pieces of your financial life (investments, estate planning, tax, insurance) are working in concert towards achieving your myriad financial goals. By starting out with a deep dive on your financial assets and income and expenses and discussing your particular goals and experiences with money and advisors, I build a customized retirement plan to balance your financial goals and the timeframes for each. After doing so, I can then make investment recommendations that truly fit your life. Within my community, I am active with a number of non-profits and currently serve as Vice President of Literacy Network of South Berkshire. When not working or volunteering, you can probably find me on a hike in the woods my wife and two young daughters or taking an indoor cycling class.
