Wes Previant is a Vice President – Financial Advisor and member of the Institutional Consulting Group at RBC Wealth Management. After completing the required coursework at the College of Financial Planning, he received his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificate. The multi-year CFP® program entails in-depth courses, training, and comprehensive examinations in all areas of financial planning including investments, taxes, insurance, estate, and retirement planning. Wes is also a Level II CFA Candidate and holds the Certified 401(k) Professional Designation, administered by The Retirement Advisor University in collaboration with UCLA Anderson School of Management Executive Education. The C(k)P® Designation identifies financial professionals who have the knowledge and experience to potentially favorably affect the outcome of corporate retirement plans.
Wes began his financial services career in 2000 working with E*TRADE Financial as a compliance manager. In 2004 he joined Merrill Lynch as part of the firm's Private Client Group. After moving the practice to Smith Barney in 2005, Wes spent 7 years as a financial planner before being asked to be the Regional Retirement Director for the Western Division for Morgan Stanley. He directly consulted to investment committees of nonprofit organizations, public and private companies.
Wes is a longtime volunteer with Manual Arts High School in South Central L.A. where he teaches high school students financial literacy. He lives in Pasadena with his wife and son and regularly visits Minnesota where his family still maintains the small farm the he grew up on
