Investor behavior is everything
I believe, the dominant determinant of real, long-term returns that people receive isn’t investment performance, it's investor behavior. If this is a concept that is foreign to you or you just don’t believe me, pick up the phone, call me immediately and give me seven minutes. You won’t regret it.
It’s time in the market, not timing the market. I have never seen statistical evidence for the persistence of performance. I don't do economic and market forecasting.
If your life plan has not changed, then you don’t make changes to your investment portfolio.
Have faith in the future. Practice rationality under uncertainty.
I charge a percentage based on assets under management. We are in the same boat, together.
If it helps to clarify, consider that I offer complimentary to you a retirement income plan, asset allocation, diversification, rebalancing, individual portfolio design and selection, monitoring and reporting, and most if not all service. In my opinion, you basically have to be convinced that behavioral advice against the panic in falling markets and euphoria in soaring times can be worth multiples of one percent per year (and I would be happy to show you why and that it is).
I believe the advice and the value that I provide is worth, by orders of magnitude, more than it costs.
Never heard anything like this before?
