Donald J Cussen

From 1991 through 1996, Donald Cussen practiced law with a major New Jersey law firm. Donald’s career in the financial services industry began in 1996 with Morgan Stanley where he held the position of Financial Consultant. Donald joined Tucker Anthony, now RBC Wealth Management, in 1999. He is a graduate of Hobart College, where he earned a BA degree in economics, and Seton Hall University Law School where he earned a JD degree. His areas of expertise include diversified portfolio management which includes equities, fixed income, commodities, and alternative investments. He works closely with clients to customize a wealth management plan to suit the financial needs of each client on both a retail and institutional level.

Don lives in Essex Fells, New Jersey with his wife, Marla. He volunteers his time with many charities and organizations in the area and community, including the United Way of Northern New Jersey where he previously served as President and where he now remains involved. Additionally, Don volunteers for the Verona Lion’s Club where he is a former President. Donald is also a member of the Essex Fells Country Club. In his spare time, Don enjoys volunteering, playing golf, and reading.

Matthew O'Connor

Senior Financial Associate


Matthew O'Connor is lead research analyst for Progressive Portfolio Concepts Group and is responsible for strategy design and construction. He oversees all of the trading functions. Utilizing propriety and external research, Matthew builds strategies that include individual bonds and equities, as well as mutual funds and ETFs. Prior to Joining RBC in 2006, Matthew worked for Prudential Securities from 1997 to 2004 in various compliance, accounting and finance roles. From 2004 to 2006 Matthew worked for O'Connor Deisler PA as an accountant.

Matthew Graduated from the University of Delaware with a Business Administration Finance degree and holds a Series 7 and 66.

Heather MacKenzie

Heather MacKenzie has been in the financial industry for 14 years. She attended Berkeley College of Business in West Paterson, NJ to study Business Administration. Heather began JB Hanauer & Co. in 1999 where she worked closely with investment advisors to provide exceptional customer service to our clientele. Heather began working at RBC Wealth Management in 2006. She holds a Series 7 & 63 which allows her to execute approved trades for our clients. She has experience working with a clientele of many generations, non-profit organizations, and corporate accounts. Her role on the team is to ensure that clients receive prompt personal attention and timely executions of requests.

Diana Baroni

Diana Baroni began her career in the financial services industry in 1998 in the Morristown office of Tucker Anthony, ultimately acquired by RBC Wealth Management and then merged with the Florham Park office in 2005.

Diana received a BA from Rowan University in communications/psychology. Prior to joining RBC Wealth Management, she enjoyed 20+ successful years as an advertising account executive with several major publications including the Star Ledger, NJ Monthly and Rutgers Alumni Magazine.

This background, in addition to her tenure with RBC Wealth Management, accounts for her expertise in managing client relationships and providing exceptional focus to detail. Diana holds both Series 7 & 63 licenses. She has assisted many of RBC Wealth Management’s senior financial advisors and has worked with Don Cussen since 2008. Her knowledge, professionalism and dedication are an integral part of our team’s success.
