He brings a hands-on, relationship-driven approach to each client, offering guidance rooted in experience, discipline and long-term wealth planning. When Richard is working with clients, he implements strategies from his fourstep plan to help achieve financial goals:
- Understand – Richard begins with a conversation to learn about his client’s financial situation, personal values, goals and concerns. This step helps ensure Richard understands what matters most to clients.
- Strategize – Richard develops a customized wealth plan tailored to client’s unique needs. Whether it’s income generation, retirement planning or wealth preservation, every strategy is designed with purpose and care.
- Implement – Together, Richard and his clients put their plan into action using appropriate investment solutions and financial tools to align with their objectives.
- Review and adjust – Life changes and markets shift. Richard provides continual support, regular reviews and necessary adjustments to help keep the plan on track and their goals within reach.
Richard started his career in the financial services industry in 1988 at Lebenthal & Co., Inc. where he focused on fixed income and developed his vast experience in the bond markets. In 1998, he moved to Smith Barney, which was later acquired by Morgan Stanley, he then moved to RBC Wealth Management in 2025.
Richard joined the industry because he wanted an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives by helping them achieve financial stability, independence and presence of mind.
Richard graduated from the State University of New York at Oneonta with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1986 and passed the Series 7 and 66 exams.
When he’s not guiding his clients toward their financial goals, Richard enjoys spending quality time with his family and embracing the challenge of learning to golf.
Richard is passionate about mental health awareness. Based on his family’s personal experience, he has learned that challenges don’t define us—how we respond to them does.
