I began my career in the investment business in 1986 in Calgary, Canada as a Financial Consultant with what is now Bank of Montreal, Nesbitt Burns. I moved to San Diego in July 1987 and began my career in earnest with Smith Barney. in 2001, I joined a predecessor firm of Wells Fargo Advisors. In 2010, I went independent with my practice, within the Wells Fargo umbrella of companies. In 2012 I transitioned to Raymond James, as an independent. In 2016 I made the important decision to move my practice to RBC Wealth Management. I decided to join the firm, and rejoin a branch as an employee, because I believed that it was a better fit for my clients and my business, within the new regulatory environment.
My specialty is retirement planning, and long -term growth investing. For clients at a certain age, I focus on income enhancement.
When I am not at the office, I am spending time with my kids. Watching Liam in varsity water polo, or Finn playing club basketball. We take many trips to Lake Tahoe, both summer and winter, to ski, boat, hike and hang out, which is usually the highlight of our year. In my spare time I enjoy yoga, ice hockey, swimming and lifting weights.
