Pat has been a financial advisor since 1985. He began his career with Merrill Lynch and was there for fifteen years prior to joining RBC Wealth Management in 2001. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree. 

Pat is Series 7, 63 and 65 licensed. He also holds a license in life and disability insurance and fixed and variable annuities. In the spring of 2000, Pat completed the CIMA® (Certified Investment Management Analyst) designation that is offered only through the prestigious Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania. He also obtained the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation with the Center for Fiduciary Studies. Pat holds the firm's internal Accredited Wealth Manager (AWM) designation, which focuses on the areas of estate and trust planning, insurance solutions and advanced investment strategies. Pat has been recognized by Barron's Top 1,200 Advisors in the country for the eighth consecutive year. He is also a Chairman's Council member, which is one of the most prestigious honors one can be bestowed at RBC Wealth Management. 

Pat lives in Manhattan Beach with his wife, Janet, and their three children. He enjoys coaching basketball and is an avid Los Angeles Lakers fan. Pat is also involved with various local charities and the Manhattan Beach Education Foundation.

Prior to joining RBC Wealth Management in 2002, Brett worked for Westfield, one of the world's largest owners and developers of shopping centers. During his tenure there, he worked as a budget and financial analyst as well as a center and leasing manager and participated in the company's IPO. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history at Pitzer College in Claremont, California and graduated from the Executive Management Program at UCLA's Anderson Graduate School of Business.

Brett currently holds the Series 7, 31 and 66 licenses and is licensed to sell life and disability insurance, fixed & variable annuities, health and long-term care insurance. Brett is also a Chairman's Council member and has been recognized by On Wall Street magazine's, "Top 40 Advisors Under 40" in the country and has been a recent contributor to The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, Dow Jones, Financial Post, and The Street. In 2013 and 2016 he was named to the Financial Times Top 400 Advisors list. Most recently he was named to the 2018 Forbes/SHOOK Best-In-State Wealth Advisor.

Brett lives in Brentwood with his wife, Alison, and their two children. He is an avid sports fan and a supporter of the UCLA basketball and football programs.

Trish started in the investment industry in 1981. She has earned the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) certificate and the Certified Investment Management Consultant® (CIMC®) designation, both of which require rigorous professional fitness and ongoing continuing education. Trish graduated from California State University at Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science Degree in business administration in finance. She holds the Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses and is licensed to sell life and disability insurance as well as fixed and variable annuities. 

Trish lives in Manhattan Beach with her husband and son. She is active in her community and enjoys walking and LA Galaxy soccer games.

Edith has been a client associate for over 10 years, and an integral part of the SB Wealth Strategies team since 2006. She is principally responsible for meeting the administrative needs of clients and is highly committed to delivering exceptional customer service. It has been our experience that clients especially appreciate her great listening skills and efficiency in handling even the most complex of requests. Edith was recently recognized for her outstanding work by receiving an RBC Wealth Management 2012 Award of Excellence.

Prior to joining RBC Wealth Management, Edith spent four years as a client associate with ML Stern providing account administration and operational support to financial advisors. 

Edith was born and raised in Southern California, and is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine. She lives in Pasadena with her two sons, and enjoys competing in her local bowling league.

Mary Anne comes with over a decade of experience in the financial industry. She began working for RBC in 2007 in the banking sector transitioning to RBC Dominion Securities in her hometown of Toronto, Canada. In 2014, she relocated to RBC Wealth Management in Beverly Hills, first as a Complex Operations Associate, and now as a Registered Client Associate.

With many years of experience, Mary Anne strives to provide exceptional service to continuously meet client needs and expectations. She was also a recipient of the 2015 RBC Award of Excellence.  She holds her Series 7 and 66 licenses. 

Mary Anne completed her education in Toronto, Canada with keen interest in Physical Education and Philosophy. In her spare time she enjoys cooking and competing in Olympic Weightlifting.

Daniel Sandoval was raised In Tampa, Florida and attended the University of Florida. In 2012 he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and soon after graduation he joined Raymond James. As a product specialist at Raymond James he advanced his business acumen and understanding of the financial markets. Daniel has prior work experience in sales, research, and insurance portfolio management before moving to Los Angeles and joining RBC. He holds his series 6, 63, and 7 licenses and is fluent in Spanish.

A conversation with SB Wealth Strategies

How would you describe the services you provide?
We help affluent individuals and families as well as foundations and endowments develop, implement and monitor investment strategies designed to enhance and protect their wealth.
I would think that wealthy individuals, families, and other entities already have investment advisors, accountants and lawyers who do that? Why would they need you?
It’s true — many high net-worth families and other entities have multiple advisors. Unfortunately, many are missing a point person who will bring it all together — someone who specializes in the business of managing and supervising a person’s wealth, working very closely with the client and other wealth management professionals.
Is that what you mean by wealth management consulting?
Yes — our approach is to understand each one of our client’s objectives in terms of investments, taxation, wealth transfer and so forth, and then develop customized strategies for each of these areas. Once the strategies have been put in place, we help our clients monitor their progress toward meeting their objectives.
Individuals who have created the type of wealth you’re talking about tend to be pretty sharp. Aren’t they able to do this on their own?
You’re absolutely right. Most of our clients are very smart, and that’s why we enjoy working with them. But we have also found that they are so busy, they seldom have the time necessary to focus on the many issues that impact the management of the wealth they have worked so hard to create. That is where we really add value.
What makes you qualified to perform this service for your clients?
Our expertise is focused on helping high net-worth investors design and implement long-term investment strategies. A key element of this is our ability to help our clients identify and select the most appropriate investments, funds and managers — no easy feat when you consider that there are a vast number of money managers in the United States alone.
Why should I choose your team over other advisors who offer similar services?
Perhaps the most compelling reason an affluent investor should work with us is the exceptional level of care and service we provide.
