Michael began his career as an intern for Payne Weber in 1993. After university, he was asked to join the Payne Weber team as a full time member and financial advisor. Michael moved to Seattle in 1995 to be closer to family, where he joined Piper Jaffray as an investment executive assisting clients in retirement planning and investing. Being born into the industry under the team structure, Michael searched for the right partner for several years until meeting David in 1997. The two have been partners ever since. Michael has been named to RBC Wealth Management’s President’s Council, which is awarded annually and recognizes employees for outstanding production, as evidenced by performance and professional growth. He also holds the Series 7, 63, and 65 FINRA licenses as well as insurance licenses in multiple states. Michael has never received a client complaint or regulatory violation.
Michael studied economics at the University of California Santa Barbara.
Michael married his wife, Kate, in 1998. They have three children and live on charming Bainbridge Island. Michael and Kate donate a tremendous amount of time and resources to their children’s education at The Island School. Michael has long volunteered at the Boys & Girls club where he has coached football, run summer sports camps, and now even serves as a member of the board of the Boys & Girls Club of Bainbridge Island. Helping kids become strong, independent adults is his passion. Michael coaches most of his children’s sporting activities including basketball, baseball, and soccer. He enjoys a healthy lifestyle by playing basketball regularly and lifting weights. Michael enjoys golf and is a member of the Wing Point Golf & Country Club.
