Michael began his career as an intern for Payne Weber in 1993. After university, he was asked to join the Payne Weber team as a full time member and financial advisor. Michael moved to Seattle in 1995 to be closer to family, where he joined Piper Jaffray as an investment executive assisting clients in retirement planning and investing. Being born into the industry under the team structure, Michael searched for the right partner for several years until meeting David in 1997. The two have been partners ever since. Michael has been named to RBC Wealth Management’s President’s Council, which is awarded annually and recognizes employees for outstanding production, as evidenced by performance and professional growth. He also holds the Series 7, 63, and 65 FINRA licenses as well as insurance licenses in multiple states. Michael has never received a client complaint or regulatory violation.


Michael studied economics at the University of California Santa Barbara.


Michael married his wife, Kate, in 1998. They have three children and live on charming Bainbridge Island. Michael and Kate donate a tremendous amount of time and resources to their children’s education at The Island School. Michael has long volunteered at the Boys & Girls club where he has coached football, run summer sports camps, and now even serves as a member of the board of the Boys & Girls Club of Bainbridge Island. Helping kids become strong, independent adults is his passion. Michael coaches most of his children’s sporting activities including basketball, baseball, and soccer. He enjoys a healthy lifestyle by playing basketball regularly and lifting weights. Michael enjoys golf and is a member of the Wing Point Golf & Country Club.

Caryn Johnson

Caryn is an Investment Associate and joined The Seattle Investment Group in 2010. Caryn has nearly 20 years of experience in the industry, has her Series 7 and 63 licenses, and an absolutely impeccable work ethic. Both Caryn and her husband, Eric, have lived in West Seattle for the last 30 years, where they are raising their two active children. You will routinely find Caryn and Eric at a practice facility or ball field supporting their boys in baseball, soccer, or basketball. In addition to the boys' sports endeavors, Caryn enjoys baking, camping and anything else that involves being outside in the sunshine with her family.

Leanne Gow

Leanne joined The Seattle Investment Group as a Registered Client Associate in early 2016, but has been a valued employee at RBC Wealth Management for the last five years. She graduated cum laude from the University of Washington with a Bachelor’s Degree in political science. In addition, she holds her Series 7 and Series 63 licenses. Leanne and her significant other welcomed their first child in March 2017. Other than enjoying life as a new mom, Leanne finds great joy in traveling the world, hiking, yoga and spending time with their 8 year old Shih Tzu.
