Tanvi oversees Environmental, Social, & Governance (ESG) analysis for $1.8 billion in client assets for the SRI Wealth Management Group at RBC Wealth Management. She integrates sustainability, impact, and mission-related considerations into client portfolios. In addition, she helps direct marketing strategy, and assists with client acquisition. Tanvi is a voluntary member of RBC’s Community Leadership Council, and leads community engagement initiatives at RBC’s San Francisco office. Prior to RBC, Tanvi worked with the SF State University Foundation, where she advanced fossil fuel divestment strategies by developing a carbon footprint model for equity portfolios. She has presented this work at several industry and academic conferences. Tanvi started her career as a trader at Barclays Investment Bank in Hong Kong. During her time there, she was nominated to the firm’s Leadership Development Program, and volunteered for various initiatives, including a project to research impact investing opportunities in Asia for the Barclays Social Innovation Fund.
Tanvi earned an undergraduate degree in Engineering with Distinction from University of Pune, India, where she also won her department’s Most Outstanding Student award for all-round achievement. She has an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, India, which was ranked as the best Masters in Management in Asia by Financial Times in 2014. Tanvi earned a second MBA from the San Francisco State University, U.S.A., where she took courses in sustainable business and graduated Bega Gamma Sigma. She was a top 10 global finalist at the Morgan Stanley Sustainable Investment Challenge 2015, which drew participation from 78 global schools. As President, Tanvi led the Net Impact graduate chapter at SFSU to a Gold ranking. During both her MBAs, she worked on several consulting projects with multinational corporations, social enterprises, and non-profit organizations.
In her free time, Tanvi enjoys advancing sustainability through her leadership position at the Net Impact San Francisco Professionals chapter. She winds down by reading fiction, playing badminton, and exploring new places with her husband and her dog.
