Before entering the securities industry, David spent nine years as a professor at both Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He began his brokerage career at Paine Webber where he also served as manager of one of the local branch offices. He joined RBC Wealth Management in 1991.
David is a senior member of The Auctus Group which manages investment portfolios for pension plans, corporations, and high net worth accounts.
David holds a B.A. degree from Brooklyn College, an M.A. degree from Florida State University, and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also studied in France where he received a diploma from the University of Paris at the Sorbonne. He taught English at a local lycée (high school) while studying in Paris.
Once named by Money Magazine as one of the best stockbrokers in the country, David was recently named to an elite list of “Select Wealth Managers” in the Chicago area by Chicagomagazine. Over the years, David has been a frequent lecturer, has given many seminars, has spoken to community and business groups, and is interviewed regularly by the local press. He has hosted his own radio show, “Inside the Stock Market,” was a panelist on the television program “Buy, Sell, or Hold,” and appeared for many years on “Ask An Expert.”
Since joining RBC Wealth Management, David has served on several honorary committees while also serving on the Boards of private and public organizations. As a Financial Advisor to individuals, corporations, and pension plans, he follows a wealth preservation strategy.
David resides with his wife and two children in Long Grove, Illinois. A public official, David is President of the Board of Trustees of the Long Grove Fire Protection District (LGFPD). As Trustee, he also serves on the Pension Board and is on the Board of Directors of RED Center, the Regional Emergency Dispatch Center. A former professor, David also serves on the Advisory Faculty of IPPAC, the Illinois Public Pension Advisory Committee. Prior to his terms on the LGFPD, David was elected to two 4-year terms (eight years) on the School Board of District 96 which serves the communities of Long Grove and Buffalo Grove. He served on many committees and Boards related to the public schools and its various organizations. For many years, he has returned to the University of Illinois with other leaders in the business community to participate in a symposium on the opportunities for students in the business and financial world.
