Michael Duffy graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1986 with a degree in Business Administration, with a major in Procurement Materials Management Mike started his career with General Motors after interning with GM for two summers. He left GM and moved to Worcester, MA for Norton Company. There he was involved in a territory dealing with technical application of Norton’s highly engineered products. Mike wanted to get involved in financial service industry back in his hometown, Cleveland, OH. So, he moved back and began his career with Prescott, Ball and Turben, Inc. in 1989.
After Kemper Insurance purchased Prescott, Mike moved to McDonald and Company and spent 9 years until McDonald was purchased in 1999 by Keycorp. After that purchase, Mike decided to move and settled with Wells Fargo Advisors. Mike spent time at Wells until 2023, developing his portfolio management skills, developing his practice. Towards the last two years at Wells, Mike brought in his son, Matthew. Matthew interned with Mike for two summers before graduating from Miami of Ohio’s Farmer School of Business with a degree in accounting. At Wells, we decided to hire Samantha Reynolds, Michelle’s daughter to assist us in our growth and really, start our family practice.
In July 2023, Duffy Wealth Management, was formed and moved to RBC Wealth Management. RBC has a balance sheet that is rated AA2 by Moody’s and AA- by Fitch and is boutique in nature with great research and fixed income capabilities. The balance sheet strength and size of the firm were major reasons for move to RBC. Our family nature can thrive together with RBC’s culture. It is a natural fit for us and how we value and cherish our client relationships.
