Desiree brings a distinctive perspective on financial advising—one shaped by a deep commitment to financial education, a genuine belief that lasting client relationships extend well beyond the balance sheet and years of experience in business and finance. She joined The Kattenhorn Mayo Team at RBC Wealth Management in June 2026, drawn by the team’s relationship-centered approach to working with clients. She is committed to building lasting, multigenerational relationships where she understands the privilege of being welcomed into her clients’ life journeys, not just their financial lives. For Desiree, success is measured by the life moments clients share with her: graduations, retirement celebrations and family milestones.
After earning a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of New Mexico, she launched her financial services career in California, where she served as a licensed financial representative at JPMorgan Chase before transitioning to a financial analyst role at TaylorMade-Adidas. She then pursued her MBA with a concentration in finance from Grand Canyon University. Upon returning home to Albuquerque, she spent nearly a decade at Sandia National Laboratories, contributing to the nation’s work through project and budget management—an experience that deepened her analytical discipline and her ability to guide clients through complex financial decisions with clarity and confidence.
She passed the SIE, Series 7 and 66 exams and holds a life and health insurance license. Her credentials also include the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification. Committed to giving back, Desiree serves as a part-time financial literacy instructor at Central New Mexico Community College, teaching dual-credit classes for students in the Albuquerque community. She is an advisory council member for the Future Fund at the Albuquerque Community Foundation, an initiative that acquaints younger community members with responsive philanthropy and nurtures future civic leadership. Desiree also volunteers with the Junior League of Albuquerque, a women’s civic organization focused on community service and leadership development, and supports the New Mexico Ballet Company, a nonprofit dedicated to serving the greater Albuquerque community through dance instruction and performances.
At home, she and her husband are the proud parents of two daughters who keep the family wonderfully busy. They share their home with two spirited, fun‑loving dogs. Outside of work, the family loves to travel, read and spend time together.
