David has 30 years of experience in the financial industry. He originally started as a bank auditor in 1991 and moved to Ferris, Baker Watts, Inc. in 1993 as a financial consultant. He joined RBC Wealth Management in 2009.
He graduated summa cum laude from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting. Additionally, he graduated from the University of Virginia Banking School. David was a certified public accountant (CPA) and has earned the RBC Wealth Management Accredited Wealth Manager designation. The Accredited Wealth Manager program is geared towards meeting the specialized needs of his clients. The designation is designed to advance his knowledge of the firm’s wealth management process, concentrating in the areas of business and retirement planning, insurance solutions, charitable giving, advanced investment and estate planning services for high-net-worth clients. The program also offers high-level insight on how David can collaborate with your other professionals, such as attorneys or accountants, to create better, more unified wealth strategies. David has passed the Series 7, 31, 63 and 65 securities exams and holds his life insurance license.
David has been a member of the RBC Wealth Management President’s Council in 2009 and the Chairman’s Council from 2010-2021. He has been named to Barron’s Top 1200 Financial Advisors in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 and the Forbes/SHOOK State-by-State Top Wealth Advisors in 2021, 2022, and 2023. David is a past president of the Marshall University Big Green Scholarship Foundation. Previously he has served on various other boards in the Huntington area.
