As co-founder of The Seline Team, Phil’s core belief is that to build trust, every client relationship must be developed through a process of discovery, planning and personalized recommendations. Because of this belief, he has earned the respect of his clients during more than 30 years in the financial services industry, particularly in retirement planning.

Phil graduated from the University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He began his career with Dain Bosworth in 1987, working as an advisor until he transitioned to Smith Barney in 1996. He was with the company for 13 years until it was acquired by Morgan Stanley in 2009. In 2014, Phil transferred to RBC Wealth Management, where he anticipates a long and successful career.

Phil lives in Bettendorf with his wife, Renee. Renee works for John Deere in Moline, Illinois. Their son, Bryce, works for American Express in New York City, and son, Blake, is a junior at the University of Iowa. Phil and Renee are members of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and are also members of Crow Valley Golf Club. Phil is an active member of the University of Iowa Alumni Association. Phil and his family enjoy traveling together and staying active by biking, running and swimming.

Malcolm Seline, AWM

A co-founder of The Seline Team, Malcolm prioritizes getting to know clients and what is important to them, developing meaningful relationships over time, before making any financial recommendations.

Malcolm has worked in the financial services industry since 1983, spending 24 years in the mortgage industry before joining the securities industry in 2007. He became a financial advisor in 2007 with Smith Barney, which later became Morgan Stanley. Malcolm moved his practice to RBC Wealth Management in 2014 to team with his brother Phil. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a degree in business administration and finance.

Malcolm and his wife, Myrna, live in Bettendorf, Iowa, with their two dogs, Lucky and Marco. They have been married since 1988 and have two daughters, both of whom live in Southern California with their families. In his spare time, Malcolm enjoys bicycle riding, and has participated in multiple RAGBRAIs. Malcolm also volunteers with Alternatives for the Older Adult to provide financial services to senior citizens on fixed incomes.

As a member of The Seline Team, Brandon understands that every client has unique investment needs. His focus is on strategic wealth and financial planning, and Brandon’s approach is to learn about you, your life goals and the steps you can take to achieve these goals. Through formulating and modifying investment strategies as needs change, Brandon continues to grow and develop his client relationships.

Brandon graduated from Mount Mercy University with bachelor’s degrees in accounting and management in 2003. After starting his career in the medical field, where he developed a passion for building and maintaining strong client relationships, Brandon joined RBC Wealth Management in 2015. As a member of The Seline Team, he provides the knowledge and guidance to help you successfully navigate your financial future.

Brandon resided in Champaign, Illinois, for seven years, but has always worn black and gold proudly. During Brandon’s years as a student, he was a collegiate athlete on the men’s basketball team. Brandon lives in Bettendorf with his wife, Monica, and three children, Sofia, Marisol and Samuel. Brandon enjoys watching a good college or high school football or basketball game. Brandon is also a member of the Quad Cities Chamber and local church.

Courtney Rodriguez

Courtney and her team strive to help clients achieve their financial goals. They use a process for each client that consists of discovery and planning, which leads to specific recommendations. They understand clients want peace of mind knowing they can have financial success.

Courtney has been part of The Seline Team for almost 15 years. In 2004, Courtney started out as an intern at Smith Barney. Six months later, she was hired on full-time as a marketing associate for The Seline Team. In 2009, Courtney moved into the client service associate role. She then moved with the team to RBC Wealth Management in June 2014. Recently, Courtney moved into the financial advisor program.

A native of the Quad Cities, Courtney graduated with an associate’s degree from Scott Community College, and later obtained her bachelor’s degree in business administration from St. Ambrose University. She lives in Bettendorf, Iowa, with her children—two sons and one daughter. When she isn’t working or continuing her education, Courtney enjoys attending her children’s activities and spending time with family and friends. Recently, she has taken up a reading hobby. Courtney enjoys participating in local races with her children and extended family members. Running has been a part of her family since she was a young girl.

Sara B. Koehler

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Northeast Missouri State University, Sara began her career as a financial advisor with Smith Barney in 1999. While at Smith Barney/Citigroup, she served as the branch administrator for several years as well. During her investment career, Sara has worked at Merrill Lynch and currently with RBC Wealth Management. She serves as the branch service manager and as a registered client associate for several financial advisor teams.

Sara was born in South Dakota and has lived all throughout the Midwest. Sara has lived in the Quad Cities since 1993 and is a happy empty-nester with her husband, Tim. Together, they have three boys and four granddaughters. Sara is a huge Iowa State University fan and loves the outdoors. She is active in her church and is an avid reader.
