The experiences you seek out beyond the classroom can be just as important as your coursework in shaping your future. For me, one of the most value opportunities I’ve had so far was my summer internship with RBC Wealth Management, where I worked with the Dimino-Seewald Group. As an incoming sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh, I believe one of the most powerful resources available to college students is the chance to gain hands-on experience through internships. These opportunities aren’t just about adding lines to your resume – they help you develop practical skills, grow your professional network, and give you a clearer picture of your future career path. Working with the Dimino-Seewald Group at RBC Wealth Management, I was entrusted with managing all of Team’s social media platforms. My responsibilities included scheduling regular posts, sending out email campaigns to prospects, and, most notably, redesigning the Dimino-Seewald Website. This project was a highlight of my internship because I was given full freedom to take ownership and bring creative ideas to life. It was both challenging and rewarding to see my contributions make a visible impact. Through this experience, I learned not just about digital marketing and client outreach, but also about the financial advising industry. One lesson that stood out was the importance of building strong, trust-based relationships with clients – because in this industry, relationships are the foundation of success.
