Paramus makes strides against breast cancer

On Friday, October 4, the Paramus Branch of RBC Wealth Management-U.S. hosted a bake sale raising money for the American Cancer Society - Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

This idea sprung from Senior Investment Associate Dawn Castro who had the idea to organize a bake sale based on her personal experience with losing a dear friend to breast cancer.

"Sometimes we feel helpless and we don't know what to do. But I felt like I needed to do something," said Dawn.

The entire branch supported the event by donating various homemade treats. We sold - caramel and candy apples, brownies, cupcakes, cookies, banana bread, Irish soda bread, muffins - and there was even an old-fashioned popcorn machine. The theme was pink, of course, with pink balloons, pink ribbons, pink bracelets and pink shirts including the "Finish the Fight Against Breast Cancer" T-shirts. The bake sale was a huge success with over $1,100.00 raised for the fight against breast cancer.

Paramus Branch Director Scott Fergang is proud of the branch support for this cause: "We always talk about our culture or what makes us different from all the other firms on the street. Well here is just one example. Every person in the office either baked or brought in a baked product. We truly are a family and when there is a cause we always come together."
