Ross began his career in the investment business in 1986 in Calgary, Canada with what is now Bank of Montreal, Nesbitt Burns. Ross moved to San Diego in 1987 and began my career in earnest with Smith Barney.
In 2000, Ross joined a predecessor firm of Wells Fargo Advisors. In 2010, Ross went independent within the Wells Fargo umbrella of companies. In 2012 Ross transitioned to Raymond James, as an independent.
In 2016, Ross moved his practice to RBC Wealth Management. He decided to join the firm because he believed that it was a better fit for his clients and his business, within the new regulatory environment, freeing him up from branch management responsibilities to focus solely on clients.
His focus is retirement planning, and long-term growth investing. Ross also focuses on income enhancement, with a goal of earning a double digit percentage income for his clients, with acceptable levels of risk.
Ross is from Canada, so he is an avid fan of his hometown Edmonton Oilers hockey team. It'll take a long time to recover from the recent loss in game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Him and his sons, Liam and Finn, flew home to watch game four. Liam graduated from UCSB, Finn attends SDSU.
Ross lifts weights with his two sons a few times a week. He does a lot of yoga. He is very involved in his local community on a volunteer basis. He's been known to enjoy a cigar on his front deck with his friends.
