Qualifications
After a decade working as a corporate event planner, Theresa embarked on a career in the financial services industry because she wants to help individuals and families define their financial goals and develop a strategy to achieve them. She started at RBC Wealth Management in 2023, forming Calkins Investment Group with her father, Patrick Calkins, who inspired her with his passion for the business and desire to help clients.
Theresa excels at seeing the big picture while managing every detail and offering proactive solutions—skills she gained during her tenure as a corporate event planner. She strives to foster strong relationships with her clients to understand their goals and objectives and uses the tools RBC Wealth Management offers—such as RBC WealthPlan—to empower clients who are beginning their wealth planning journey, saving for a major life event or preparing for retirement.
Theresa has a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication and Spanish from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She passed the Series 7 and 66 exams and holds health and life insurance licenses.
Personal
A native of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, Theresa moved to the Lincoln Square neighborhood of Chicago after graduating from college. She loves exploring the city’s unique neighborhoods. Theresa also enjoys traveling, cooking, exercising and spending time with friends and family.
