Qualifications
- Double major with a B.A. in Business Management (Finance concentration) and a B.A. in Economics from North Carolina State University.
- Licensed Financial Advisor since June 1988. Joined Centura Securities, a predecessor to RBC Wealth Management, in 1994.
- Former Managing Director of RBC Centura securities.
- Served on the RBC Wealth Management Branch Management Leadership Council.
- Completed the Accredited Wealth Manager program, July 2008 with annual required continuing education.
- Member, RBC Wealth Management Director's Council, 2009, 2010, and 2017-present.
- Member, RBC Wealth Management President's Council, 2011-2016.
Work philosophy
Because David finds that clients prefer a more in-depth, consultative relationship, he works with a smaller number of clients than many other advisors. He believes in customized wealth planning covering all aspects of a client's financial situation. He also believes that proper planning, time, and risk diversification are the greatest keys to financial success.
Personal
Born in Charleston, West Virginia, Dave has lived in North Carolina since 1980 and is a graduate of North Carolina State University. He is the proud father of three grown children and and extremely happy grandfather to a growing family. A lover of the outdoors, Dave enjoys a variety of physical activities including running, hiking, biking, and swimming. He believes that his physical fitness is an important part of his overall well being and helps him in all aspects of his life and he has completed over 60 triathlons and distance races in recent years. He also enjoys relaxing at the beach, reading (mainly biographies and non-fiction), paddle boarding, and the tortured existence of supporting NC State Wolfpack athletics.
