Timothy Hilton brings more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry focusing on financial planning and asset management. He works closely with individuals and families to develop personalized strategies that help preserve, grow, and transfer wealth while adapting to each client’s evolving financial goals.
Tim has served on RBC’s select Alternative Investment Council since 2020. Through this, he helps identify evolving trends in the alternative investment landscape and bring new ideas to the firm. His experience in this area provides clients with access to additional insight when evaluating opportunities beyond traditional investments, helping him to build diversified portfolios and identify opportunities aligned with each client’s financial objectives. Combining technical skills with a relationship-driven approach, Tim develops strategies tailored to each client’s priority, risk tolerance, and long-term goals. His commitment to personalized service enables him to deliver practical, customized guidance designed to help clients stay on track through every stage of life.
Tim earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Wofford College, majoring in Finance with a minor in Accounting. Outside of his professional work, Tim is an active member of his local Hoboken, NJ community. He served for more than five years on the Investment Committee of Mustard Seed School under its Board of Directors prior to its 2024 merger with The Hudson School. He also volunteers with the Father’s Club at Seton Hall Preparatory School where his son’s currently attend. Tim has been heavily involved in the local Hoboken Little League Baseball community since 2015 coaching teams at multiple levels and age groups helping the baseball community grow and thrive. He and his family are also heavily involved in the Little League Challenger program that is an adaptive baseball program founded by Little League International in 1989 for individuals with physical and intellectual challenges. This program allows both children and adults to play baseball in a safe non-competitive environment.
Tim resides in New Jersey with his wife, Cara, and their two teenage sons. He enjoys downhill skiing, golfing, traveling, and spending time with his family.
