Qualifications
For more than 25 years, I have practiced as a financial advisor. I am an investment advisor representative, having passed the Series 7, 63 and 65 exams, and a licensed life insurance agent. I have completed numerous courses in the areas of financial planning, investments and insurance. In addition to my extensive financial consulting experience, I offer in-depth, practical business experience. I have held management positions at Shell Oil Company and ICF International, Inc. and have professional experience in business development, economics and risk analysis. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Fort Lewis College, in Durango, Colorado, and a Master of Science degree from the University of Colorado, in Boulder, Colorado.
Community involvement
My community involvement has included: serving as chair of the Chamber Connection Program of the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce and as a director of their Economic Development Group; serving as treasurer and president for the Colorado Section of the American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG) and also as national treasurer for AIPG; participating as a member of the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists (RMAG); and serving as lay minister, vice president and president of the Parish Council of Our Father Lutheran Church, in Centennial, Colorado.
Personal
Born in Boulder, Colorado, I currently reside in Aurora, Colorado. I am married to Sara Kerstetter Rhode and have two adult children, daughter Whitney Rader, and son Taylor Rhode. As interests and hobbies, I enjoy golfing, hiking, fishing, snowshoeing and gardening. Among my personal accomplishments are hiking eighteen of Colorado's Fourteeners and completing the 1993 Denver International Marathon. Recently, my wife Sara and I completed the Haute Route hiking trek in the Swiss and French Alps.
