Before joining RBC Wealth Management in 2022, David’s career journey included working at Sandia National Laboratories since 2010, where he worked in the nuclear deterrence program portfolio office as a program analyst, in the CFO’s organization as a rates analyst and as a project manager supporting the national security programs.
David knows people often need help navigating the world of finance, and he’s passionate about helping clients find presence of mind. He discovered his passion for sharing financial advice while teaching financial literacy and accounting at Central New Mexico Community College.
David is a self-professed numbers person who balances sound financial decision-making with helping clients live life to the fullest. David received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from New Mexico State University in 2010 and a master’s degree in accounting from The University of New Mexico in 2012.
David proudly achieved the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) professional designation in January 2025, marking a significant milestone in his commitment to financial excellence. Through rigorous study and practical application, he has deepened his understanding of financial planning, investment strategies, tax planning, retirement planning and estate planning.
To relax, David loves to host dinner parties for friends or choose the next destination to explore with his wife and two daughters. David is also very passionate about giving back to the local community through his involvement with Junior Achievement and financial coaching through CNM Ingenuity. He also serves on the board of directors for the New Mexico Society of CPAs and the Albuquerque Kiwanis Club, as treasurer for the New Mexico Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) State Council and as current chair for the Future Fund of Albuquerque Community Foundation.
