I began my career in the medical industry, attending University of Texas, Arlington campus’ Medical Program. This included residencies at Harris Hospital and Saint Joseph Radiation Center where I completed the Medical Radiography Program and Nuclear Medical program, passing the exams for certification with ARRT in Images Sciences and NMAA Certification for Nuclear Medicine and radiation therapy. After completion of my medical sciences curriculum I worked at Southwestern Medical School Radiology Department, where I managed radiological testing and research procedures.
I had always been interested in the financial markets and what made them move. So, when I had an opportunity to change careers, I jumped at the chance. I went to work for an investment firm that specialized in international trade, obtaining my CFTC Commodities license. I eventually became the financial and investment manager of the company’s assets. Part of that role was to facilitate trades on the LME London Metals Exchange. While there I helped develop an importing link with the newly opened Peoples Republic of China. This enabled me to travel to Beijing to meet with various industry heads to work out trade agreements.
I eventually wanted to adjust my career in the direction of private wealth management and became a financial advisor with a large well known financial firm, where I specialized in complex bond portfolios for individuals and institutional investors. After my success with portfolio management I went to work with a boutique financial firm that had a specialized equity focus, until the company was purchased by a larger international bank.
In 1999, I joined RBC Wealth Management as a financial advisor. Helping clients develop robust wealth management plans and strategies to accomplish their goals. Throughout my career I earned both my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and my Certified Investment Management Analyst® designation.
I live outside of Dallas with my significant other, Gary. Together we raise and care for our Spanish Andalusian horses and our pack of working dogs.
