Brian entered the securities industry in 1994 with Richmond-based Branch Cabell & Co. In 2001, RBC Dain Rauscher acquired Tucker Anthony which had purchased Branch Cabell & Co. He is the lead advisor for the Ford Group, with a focus on adding value to all client relationships by becoming a trusted, valuable consultant to you, your family and your business. Brian believes in providing solutions that are customized to your particular objectives. 

In 2000, Brian earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®) certification after completing the extensive three-year curriculum required. CFP® practitioners are dedicated to the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards, and, through the intensive requirements, gain a greater understanding of risk management techniques, as well as insurance, tax, estate, investments and retirement planning. These topics of study allow CFP® practitioners to enhance their client relationships and add value toward helping clients achieve their financial objectives.

In 2006, he earned RBC Wealth Management’s internal designation of Accredited Wealth Manager (AWM). The Accredited Wealth Manager program is designed to provide financial professionals with training in advanced wealth management strategies and is offered exclusively by RBC Wealth Management to a select group of its financial advisors. This advanced-level program builds on the fundamentals of wealth management with a focus on estate planning services, insurance solutions, advanced investment strategies and business succession planning.

Brian is a regular radio contributor to the “Virginia Stock Report”, as well as the Monday Morning Business Report on WCVE 88.9 FM (Richmond). He is active in the community by accepting leadership roles on the boards of the Science Museum of Virginia Foundation and the Estate Planning Council at the University of Richmond. Brian is also an adult Sunday school teacher at Trinity United Methodist Church. 

Brian is a 1991 graduate of the University of Virginia where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He holds the Series 7, 63 and 65 securities licenses and is also registered to sell life, disability, and long-term care insurance. Brian is a lifelong resident of Richmond, Virginia and is married to his high school sweetheart, Stephanie, and they have two children. Outside of the office, he enjoys travel, golf and reading.

Andy entered the securities industry in 2000 as a financial advisor, establishing an office in Ohio with a nationwide investment firm. He relocated back to Richmond in 2006 joining RBC Dain Rauscher (now RBC Wealth Management).

Within the Ford Group, Andy plays a critical role in investment manager oversight and individual portfolio construction. In addition, his compassion for individual client attention as well as his professional demeanor makes him a valuable advisor. Andy recently completed the Advanced Wealth Manager (AWM) Program, a professional designation specifically designed by RBC Wealth Management. This exclusive program builds on the fundamentals of wealth management - our methodology for helping you accumulate, protect, enjoy and transfer your wealth - with a focus on the sophisticated knowledge and skills necessary to gain a deeper understanding of your individual financial objectives and address complex financial needs.

In 2011, Andy earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation, which represents a thorough knowledge of and ability to apply the Global Fiduciary Standard of Excellence. AIF® designees have a reputation in the industry as being well positioned to implement a prudent process into their own investment practices as well as being able to assist other in implementing proper policies and procedures. In 2004, Andy earned the Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS®) designation sponsored by the College for Financial Planning.

He is also active in the community by accepting leadership roles with boards of several organizations including the Bon Secours Richmond Health Care Foundation, Virginia Mentoring Partnership, Midlothian Rotary Club and Southside Church of the Nazarene. Andy is also a mentor at the Peter Paul Development Center.

Andy is a native of Richmond, Virginia and earned his Bachelor of Science degree with a business minor from James Madison University. He holds the Series 7, 31, 63 and 66 licenses and is also registered to sell life, disability and long-term care insurance. Andy, a native of Richmond, Virginia lives in Midlothian, Virginia with his wife, Janet, and they have three daughters. Outside of the office, he enjoys golf, basketball and most outdoor recreation activities.

Genie Samford

Genie has been with RBC Wealth Management since 1999, and has over 30 years of experience serving private clients. She holds her Series 7 and 66 securities licenses and is a past recipient of multiple RBC Wealth Management Awards of Excellence. She is the operations manager overseeing all client account services, compliance, regulatory projects, as well as receipts and disbursements from client accounts.

Prior to working at RBC Wealth Management, she worked for a financial planning firm in New York as well as an insurance company in Boston.

A native of Richmond, Genie enjoys music, reading and traveling.

Susan Hulcher

Susan has been with RBC Wealth Management since June, 2016. She has passed the Series 7 and 66 exams, and assists with wealth management plans, product research and monitoring, portfolio analysis and various technology related initiatives. Susan is also a regular radio contributor to the "Virginia Stock Report" on WCVE 88.9 FM (Richmond).


Prior to working with RBC Wealth Management, she worked for a Richmond public relations firm, was a small business owner and an officer in the United States Army. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.


A native of Pennsylvania, Susan enjoys spending time with her husband, Shell and her 4 adult children exploring the rich history of Richmond and outdoor activities such as biking and running.
