Educational background and experience
After college, I spent eight years in the banking industry. I finished up my banking career with Wells Fargo Bank in 1986 working as a middle market lender analyzing and extending commercial loans to businesses with sales between $5 and $100 million annually. That experience provided me with a firm understanding of the risks inherent in investing money whether it be the banks money being lent to borrower’s or individual’s money being committed to the stock or bond markets. In 1986 I joined Merrill Lynch in their Beverly Hills office until 1998 when I moved to Sutro & Company. Sutro was acquired in 2002 by RBC Dain Rauscher which became RBC Wealth Management in 2009 where I remain working in their Beverly Hills Office “coaching” clients with their investments. During my 31 years in the financial services industry, I have been through every market cycle, from the “crash” of 1987, through the “internet bubble” of 2000, to our current market environment.
I completed my undergraduate degree with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with emphasis in finance, insurance, and real estate from California Polytechnic University, Pomona. I hold the Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses. In the past, I have taught a Real Estate Financing course which was a pre-requisite for taking the California Real Estate Agents exam.
