Jim graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. He began his career at IBM as a design engineer and marketing representative. In 1988, he joined Tucker Anthony, now RBC Wealth Management. Jim is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. As a CFP® practitioner, he has completed extensive coursework in financial planning, retirement planning, estate planning, investment management, insurance and taxation. Jim also earned RBC Wealth Management’s professional designation of Accredited Wealth Manager (AWM).

Jim was named the RBC Wealth Management 2011 National Volunteer of the Year. RBC Wealth Management presents this award to one individual each year to recognize outstanding volunteer commitment and community service. Each week, Jim volunteers one full eight-hour day as the “Money Coach” for Jewish Family Services (JFS) of Greater Hartford, which is a non-sectarian social service agency helping individuals and families of all backgrounds deal with life cycle transitions and adversity.

Raised in West Hartford, Jim currently resides there with his wife, Amy. Their son, Noah, is a software engineer with a late-stage, pre-IPO tech company in San Francisco. Their daughter, Leah, attends Brown University and is majoring in applied mathematics. Jim enjoys sailing and is a member of Thames Yacht Club, where he competitively races his boat, GHOST. An active cyclist, hiker and former runner, Jim continues to be an exercise enthusiast.

Mark earned a Masters of Business Administration, with a concentration in finance, from the University of Connecticut in 2004. While at RBC Wealth Management, Mark chose to pursue the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification—the recognized standard of excellence for financial planning. As a CFP® practitioner, Mark has completed extensive coursework in areas of financial planning, including retirement planning, estate planning, investment management and insurance.

In 2013, Mark became a member of The Estate and Business Planning Council of Hartford. This association is comprised of professionals who specialize in trust, estate, accounting and financial planning for individuals and businesses. The spirit of collaboration among the organization’s members is an incredible resource for The Goldman Monroe Team.

A Connecticut native, Mark lives in West Hartford with his wife, Erin, daughters, Abigail and Milly, and his rescue-dog, Eyck. Outside of work, Mark spends his family time cooking, skiing, enjoying live music, and cheering for the Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premier League.

Christie joined RBC in 2007 after 11 years in the financial services industry. She is responsible for the team’s agile response to new initiatives both at the team and firm level. Christie’s dedication to our clients is unwavering. She is continuously striving to better understand our clients’ needs in order to enhance their investment experience. Christie’s knowledge and dedication has earned her three “RBC Awards of Excellence” during her career. In 2015, Christie was promoted to investment associate. She has passed the Series 7, 63 and 65 exams.

In her spare time, Christie can be found exploring local hiking trails, gardening, cooking or working on home improvement projects with her husband, Jon. They live in Bolton, Connecticut, with their son, Bobby.

Rachael began her financial career with RBC Wealth Management in November 2003 and joined The Goldman Monroe Team in February 2014. She is responsible for the team’s operational and administrative functions. Rachael prides herself on building and maintaining client relationships. She has passed the Series 7 and 63 exams. Rachael enjoys cooking, beach trips and spending quality time with her husband, Andrew, and their two daughters, Riley and Alaina. They reside in Windsor Locks, Connecticut.
