Ambassador Grayson’s expertise as a financial advisor and previously as an attorney and senior government official, is paired with RBC’s global resources and talent, to provide trusted advice and solutions to his family office, company founder, CEO, endowment and foundation clients. Prior to RBC, he pioneered and ran Alliance Bernstein’s family office practice, serving as the financial quarterback for significant families across the U.S. He previously advised ultra-high net-worth clients at JP Morgan, Montgomery Securities and as president of a hedge fund management firm. Ambassador Grayson also practiced law for ten years as a law firm litigator and corporate and government general counsel. He’s served in the administrations of five U.S. presidents, most recently as the US Ambassador and Commissioner General to the 2025 World Expo in Osaka, Japan. For his leadership, he was honored as the 2025 Person of the Year in Japan by the American Chamber of Commerce of Japan. He’s also served in the Department of the Army, on the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships, as Chairman of the Presidio Trust and was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the Ambassador to Estonia. Bill has served and chaired on investment committees and boards of trustees, including the Atlantic Council, University of Hawaii Foundation, National Park Foundation, Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and UC Berkeley’s Institute for Governmental Studies. With his command of global capital markets and politics, and integrity in providing sound advice and solutions, Bill’s client relationships span generations. His clients meet world-renowned leaders in business, government, media, academia, and the military through his client conferences and briefings. Ambassador Grayson is a regular speaker in the media and at global investment conferences, is a California State Bar member and holds the Series 7, 65 and 63 securities licenses. He’s a graduate of Saint Ignatius College Preparatory; University of California, Santa Barbara, University of San Francisco School of Law, and has a Defense Policy certificate from Harvard’s Kennedy School. He and his wife live in San Francisco and Rancho Mirage, CA, have three daughters and a rescue dog. In his spare time, he plays tennis and pickleball, golfs, skis, surfs, and runs the trails of the Presidio.

Bill serves as a resource for your financial advisor in determining and developing wealth transfer strategies for high-net-worth clients in areas including estate strategies, lifetime giving, personal trust planning, charitable giving, concentrated equity position diversification and employee stock options. In this role, Bill partners with financial advisors to meet with individual clients and their attorneys and/or accountants, as well as to present at client seminars.

In the wealth management banker role, Jordan acts as the key contact for financial advisors and their clients to build awareness and understanding of the full cash management and lending options available.

Dean Deutz, CFP®

Echelon Wealth Strategist

As an RBC Echelon wealth strategist, Dean works with financial advisors and their ultra-high-net-worth clients to understand what is most important to them and to help develop appropriate strategies that address the client’s objectives and concerns. Dean serves as a knowledgeable resource in the area of complex wealth, including planning strategies for corporate executives, trust and estate planning services, concentrated stock options, business succession planning and philanthropic planning. He also coordinates solutions and external professional services tailored to RBC Echelon clients' needs.

Thad Beller

Alternative Investments Consultant

As an alternative investments’ consultant, Thad is skilled across the alternatives landscape, including private markets, real assets, hedge funds and select tax-considerate investment strategies. Thad partners with financial advisors in identifying and implementing alternative investment solutions to help clients achieve their goals. He offers education, portfolio construction advice and fund selection guidance to financial advisors and their clients.
