Qualifications
Greg joined RBC Wealth Management in the spring of 2009 bringing his 23 years of financial service industry experience to the Red Bank, NJ office. He began his financial services career at Smith Barney, New York City in 1985 after serving his country for six years in the U.S. Navy. Starting in the stock record department, he quickly moved through the ranks of the firm. In 1987, Greg was promoted to the Mortgage-Backed Securities trading desk as a clerk. Later he became a Retail CMO Trader and soon ran the Smith Barney’s Retail CMO desk. Ultimately, he became an Institutional Whole Loan CMO Trader where he made markets for institutional clients that included money managers, insurance companies and pension funds. During this time, he simultaneously earned a college degree. In 1994, Greg joined Cantor Fitzgerald in the World Trade Center where he started and managed the Mortgaged-Backed Trading Desk that catered to the regional dealer community for all mortgage products including derivatives. In 1998, Greg changed course to spend more quality time with his family and began working directly with individuals. He spent two years as an independent insurance agent focusing primarily on Long-Term Care, Medicare Supplement and Life insurance for seniors. Greg rejoined Smith Barney in 2000 as a financial consultant where he began working with individuals on their investment portfolios.
As a sign of his continued commitment to provide the highest level of client service, in July of 2010, Greg earned the firm’s internal designation of Accredited Wealth Manager (AWM). By attaining the AWM designation he has demonstrated advanced knowledge of the firm’s wealth management process, concentrating in the areas of business and retirement planning, insurance solutions, charitable giving, and estate planning strategies.
Greg graduated from Pace University, NY, in 1993 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He has passed the Series 7, 63, and 65 exams as well as holding a NJ Insurance Producer license for life, accident, health, and variable annuities. His business experience and strong interpersonal skills provide a solid foundation to build lasting relationships with his clients as a Financial Consultant.
Personal
Greg is a proud U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1980 through 1985. Stationed aboard the USS Saratoga CV-60 as an electrician, He worked both in the Engineering and Air Departments. His roots in the Jersey shore stretch back to 1972. Greg currently lives in Middletown, NJ with his wife of 30+ years Anne. They have two beautiful daughters Kelly and Megan who upon graduation decided to follow their parents’ footsteps, embarking on their own careers in the financial services industry. During the warmer months he is an avid, yet challenged golfer. In the cooler seasons, he is a competitive bowler.
