Professional experience
Eric has been in the financial services industry since 1986 when he joined insurance provider The Phoenix Companies, offering his clients insurance and financial planning. In 1994, Eric decided he could better serve his clients through an affiliation with a full-service brokerage firm and thus joined Legg Mason Wood Walker, which was acquired by Smith Barney in 2006 and subsequently by Morgan Stanley in 2010. Eric joined RBC Wealth Management as a senior vice president – financial advisor in April 2015.
Eric emphasizes retirement, succession and estate planning with his clients. After completing the required coursework at the College of Financial Planning, he received his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificate. The multi-year CFP® program entails in-depth courses, training and comprehensive examinations in all areas of financial planning including investments, taxes, insurance, estate and retirement planning. Eric is a member of the 2022 RBC Wealth Management Director’s Council, and is a senior portfolio manager in the Portfolio Focus group, which recognizes his commitment to providing his clients with discretionary fee-based investment solutions using his strong client portfolio management skills.
Education and personal information
Eric received his Bachelor of Science degree in finance from West Virginia University in 1985 with a minor in economics. An active resident of the Canonsburg area, he is a member and three-time past president of the Bridgeville South Fayette Rotary and a member of Session of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Bridgeville. He is also a board member of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity’s WVU chapter. Eric and his wife, Sherry, reside in the Canonsburg area. Eric’s son, Adam, practices law in the Atlanta area; his daughter, Victoria, is living and working in New York City where she is a senior business analyst for Revlon Corporation, and his stepdaughter, Breesa, is working on a master’s degree in Nursing while working as a nurse in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In his free time, Eric enjoys biking, golfing, exercising and wine tasting.
