Personalized portfolio management
Like all successful people, you have a busy schedule. Between work, family, social and civic commitments, you may not have the time it takes to maximize the potential of your investments. And you don’t have to. That’s what we do.
We will take the time to learn all about you — your financial situation and goals, your investment preferences, your time horizon, your tolerance for risk. We tactically manage 5 of the RBC expanded model portfolios, and armed with this knowledge about you, we will create and maintain a portfolio that’s customized to your needs.
Our approach integrates your objectives into a personalized plan that can be updated as life changes occur. We remove the emotion from investing and adhere to an open architecture philosophy that is unbiased and flexible. We then use sophisticated investment planning tools with professional resources to help match your objectives with customized solutions.
Portfolio management 5 step process
- We begin by listening to understand you and your financial objectives. What are your goals? What is your risk tolerance?
- Based on what we learned in step one, we select one of our five model portfolios
- Investment selection — We use a mixture of load waived or no load mutual funds, exchange traded funds (ETFs), and closed end mutual funds.
- Ongoing tactical management of portfolio
- Periodic reviews with client
Asset-based fee structure
No commissions are involved in Portfolio Focus transactions. Instead, you pay one quarterly fee, based on your total assets under management. Consequently, your portfolio manager’s compensation is tied directly to your portfolio’s performance — not to the number of trades.
When making investment decisions it is easy to respond emotionally rather than rationally. We feel it is important to step back and look at the big picture in order to avoid making hasty decisions that could effect long-term goals. Our portfolio management process removes the emotion from decision making and maintains a long-term focus yet implementing tactical adjustments.
