Hank is a senior vice president – financial advisor with RBC Wealth Management based in the Richmond, Virginia office. Hank received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Hampden-Sydney College in 1976. His career as a registered representative began in the securities industry in 1977 with Branch Cabell & Co., where he became a partner in 1987. Later the firm was changed to a corporation and he was elected to the board of directors. Branch Cabell was sold to Tucker Anthony Sutro in 2000, which shortly thereafter became a part of RBC Wealth Management. Overall, Hank has 46 years of investment advice and planning experience. In 2006, Hank earned his Accredited Wealth Manager designation through the Estate and Wealth Strategies Institute of Michigan State University. Hank holds the designation from RBC Wealth Management of senior portfolio manager – portfolio focus and has passed the Series 7, 24, 63 and 65 exams.
Hank is a member of the RBC Wealth Management Director’s Council. In 2004, RBC Wealth Management created the Equity Leaders Advisory Council, which is comprised of a small group of experienced financial advisors who focus on equities in their practice. They join with the members of the research department and top management to review, discuss and evaluate the current and new equity products and delivery systems to improve what RBC Wealth Management offers clients. Hank is an original appointee to the Equity Leaders Advisory Council and continues to serve on the council.
Hank is active in the community and serves as a member of the Massey Cancer Center Advisory Board. He also serves on The Virginia Ducks Unlimited Senior Advisory Committee and State Council, and was state chairman of Virginia Ducks Unlimited from 1994–1996. He is the secretary of The Society of The Cincinnati In the State of Virginia, the oldest patriotic organization in America which supports and promotes efforts to increase knowledge and appreciation of the achievements of American independence.
Hank was born in Richmond, Virginia, where he resides with his wife, Gayle. They have a son and daughter, who are both married, and two grandchildren. Hank and Gayle also have Labrador retrievers named Judge and Ace. Judge and Ace enjoy their days hunting and training with Hank and playing in the Rappahannock River. Judge also loves traveling with Gayle to nursing homes and schools providing companionship as a therapy dog. Hank’s interests encompass the outdoors with activities including golf, hunting, fishing, boating and raising Labrador retrievers.
