Born in Syracuse, New York, Ellen moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 1972. Her father was a successful financial advisor based in Fort Lauderdale. It was his passion for investing that greatly influenced her decision to join Merrill Lynch in 1984.
After close to 25 years with Merrill Lynch, Ellen joined RBC Wealth Management in April 2009. A graduate from Nova Southeastern University School of Entrepreneurship, she received a Certificate of Specialization in Financial Planning. She earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in January 1999, which has provided the training necessary to assist clients with all aspects of their financial life. Ellen has specialized in multi-generational planning and is proud to have worked with up to four generations of a family as they navigate through life’s transitions.
Ellen has been married to her husband, Ed, since 1982. They have two grown children, Allie and Christopher, and two granddaughters, Harper and Ainsley. Ellen also owns two quarter horses that she loves riding. She is a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and the Florida Quarter Horse Association. Ellen and her family also enjoy spending time at our vacation home in the mountains of East Tennessee.
In 2012, RBC Wealth Management named Ellen as the Irv Weiser Diversity Award winner. The award was established in 2004 to recognize individuals who exhibit the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
As an ally of the gay and lesbian community, Ellen has built a significant portion of her business in this growing client market and regularly works to build diversity awareness both in the branch and the local community. Supporting the diverse community of South Florida is very important to Ellen and the Krider family. As a result, they proudly support the Pride Center at Equality Park, Equality Florida and Our Fund. In addition, Ellen is actively involved with the Women’s Association of Financial Advisors and with RBC Pride, a firm employee resource group.
