Ray has more than 30 years of managerial and investment experience. He began his investment career in 1984 after six years with a Fortune 500 company. His investment industry focus has been in investment consulting.
Prior to his association with RBC Wealth Management, Ray was employed by a firm specializing in consulting on managed assets. His duties included research and evaluation of investment advisory firms, conducting seminars and providing consulting services to individuals and institutional accounts.
In 1993, Ray became president of GS2 Securities, Inc., a firm specializing in investment consulting to high-net-worth individuals, institutions, endowment and retirement plans. In 1997, The Ziegler Companies, Inc., purchased the firm, and Ray guided its integration into Ziegler’s principal subsidiary, B.C. Ziegler and Company. In July 2006, he joined the Schilffarth-Schnoll Group of RBC Wealth Management.
Ray’s approach to investing begins with the belief that no one investment strategy is for every investor or situation. Therefore, it is mandatory that each investor’s unique set of circumstances, needs and goals be identified and evaluated. Identifying the purpose of the funds, investment time horizon, risk tolerance, return expectations and income requirements are a few of the considerations factored into the development of a customized investment solution.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and a Master of Management degree in finance from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He is an active member of the Milwaukee Investment Analyst Society, Inc., past membership chairman of the Milwaukee Chapter, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
