Matt joined the Legacy Group in 2020 after spending seven years in the corporate office at RBC Wealth Management. During his time in headquarters, Matt was instrumental in helping to launch RBC WealthPlan, the financial planning software used nationwide throughout the firm. In addition to understanding the inner workings of the software, Matt had the opportunity to work with and learn from multiple financial advisors as he helped them deliver the value of financial planning to their clients. Matt believes that no two clients are the same and that each wealth plan should be customized to fit each client’s unique circumstances.
Prior to joining RBC Wealth Management in 2013, Matt held the position of regional sales director with Ameriprise Financial. During this time he developed an expertise in financial planning concepts by earning the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in addition to passing the Series 7 and 66 securities exams.
Matt’s core values were formed as a young adult during his service in the Air Force: integrity first, service before self and excellence in all we do. Matt chose to join the Legacy Group because Dean and Erica live those same values and put the client’s interest ahead of their own. Matt’s commitment to clients is to provide clarity through the planning process that allows families to live a life that aligns with their core values and fulfills a greater purpose.
Matt and his wife, Sarah, have two kids, Joseph and Sydney, who drive them absolutely bonkers but also deliver more happiness than they could ever imagine! Matt enjoys holding client meetings in boats, canoes, tree stands or walking a field, but most importantly looks forward to meeting people face-to-face to understand what motivates and inspires them and how he can help them achieve those things.
