With individual specializations across a variety of financial disciplines, the Client Strategies Team serves as a unique resource to RBC Wealth Management financial advisors. Our clients and advisors both benefit from the collective expertise of this team, and their ability to help enhance the effectiveness of wealth management strategies—from recommendations through delivery of solutions.
Wealth Management Consultant
Peter provides expertise to RBC Wealth Management financial advisors who work with endowments, non-profits and foundations. Peter also assists financial advisors in using internal and external wealth management tools, including sophisticated software programs, to help provide appropriate solutions for clients' needs.
Blake is based in Des Moines, Iowa. He serves as a resource for financial advisors by helping them understand their clients’ financial objectives, gather information and determine appropriate strategies for complex financial and wealth transfer issues for high-net-worth clients in the firm’s Central division.
Blake is responsible for helping RBC Wealth Management financial advisors discover issues their clients face and develop customized wealth management solutions to assist clients in attaining their goals. He focuses on wealth transfer planning, including trust and estate planning, business succession planning, charitable planning and stock option planning. Blake works in collaboration with clients’ attorneys, accountants and other professionals to implement comprehensive planning strategies. In addition, Blake frequently conducts seminars and educational presentations for clients and groups on a variety of topics relating to wealth transfer.
Before joining RBC Wealth Management in 2018, Blake spent 11 years in the financial services industry. In every role Blake has taken in his professional career, he has served as a specialist helping families and businesses of all sizes plan for the successful transfer of wealth. He previously worked at Syverson Strege & Company where he served as president, Merrill Lynch where he served as vice president, trust and estate specialist, and Farm Bureau Financial Services where he served as director of Advanced Markets. Blake received his Juris Doctorate from Drake University Law School and his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah. He has also attained his ChFC® and CLU® designations and has passed his Series 7, 63 and 65 exams.
Divisional Retirement Consultant
Scott does extensive research into retirement plan providers. He also assists RBC Wealth Management financial advisors in servicing clients’ retirement plans. He is involved in the creation and maintenance of investment policy statements, investment monitoring, plan design and portfolio consulting.
Private Wealth Consultant
Dean provides individuals, families, business owners and executives with comprehensive wealth management planning to address the issues most common to high-net-worth families. Dean has extensive expertise developing strategies and implementing solutions in the following areas: retirement, investments, insurance, lending, trust, estate, and stock options.
Wealth Planning Consultant
Rich helps RBC Wealth Management financial advisors address retirement planning needs for high-net-worth clients. He also provides comprehensive education, guidance and support to financial advisors and clients facing issues that may not have affected them while growing their assets. Rich's goal is to minimize risk faced by retirees and help with choices affecting them during retirement.
Scott works with financial advisors to establish a holistic wealth management practice that manages both sides of the balance sheet by focusing on clients’ liquidity needs in the short-term, while maintaining a long-term focus on goals-based borrowing through the wealth planning process.
Senior Vice President, Director of Portfolio Advisory Group
A 32-year veteran of the securities industry, Janet Engels became Director of RBC Wealth Management’s Portfolio Advisory Group in 2002 following the acquisition of Tucker Anthony Inc. She is Co-Chair of the Global Portfolio Advisory Committee (GPAC) and a member of the firm’s Directors Group. She is also a member of the Financial Women’s Association of New York and a frequent speaker at client seminars throughout the country. She has appeared on CNBC, Fox Business and has been quoted in several leading industry publications. Janet was also the recipient of RBC Wealth Management’s “Irv Weiser Diversity Award” in recognition of her commitment to supporting the education of women and increasing awareness about persons with disabilities. Janet received a B.S. in Business Administration from Bucknell University in Pennsylvania.
