For over 30 years, Martin has created sophisticated and personalized wealth planning solutions for highly compensated individuals with complex estate issues. In addition, he is the investment fiduciary on various retirement plans. Martin has specialized experience in political and economic issues, and a keen understanding of how these issues may affect financial markets and ultimately client goals and objectives. This proficiency was gained in his 13+ years of experience in Washington, D.C., serving in positions with the U.S. House of Representatives, the White House and the U. S. Small Business Administration. Previously, he was a Managing Director for J.P.Morgan, a Senior Vice President with Morgan Stanley and spent over fourteen years with Prudential Securities as a Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager.
Martin taught Advanced Stock Analysis, Investments, Capital Markets and The Survey of Financial Planning at the University of California, Irvine for over fourteen years. He has been a guest lecturer and speaker for groups such as the University of California, Riverside, Cal State Fullerton, the LA Treasurer’s Club, AIAA (the American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics), the Junior League of Orange County and numerous cruise lines.
In addition, Martin hosted the Los Angeles public television show “Small Business Views”. He was selected as the host based on his experience in the U.S. Small Business Administration. As the host, Martin interviewed and delved into issues facing business owners, typically in cutting-edge industries. The topics varied but were primarily focused on small business concerns (such as access to capital). The show also highlighted broader topics stemming from the White House Conference on Small Business, including worker’s compensation, product liability, taxes and environmental laws for manufacturing. Martin understands the concerns facing small business owners and his experience allows him to customize wealth management strategies to help address their unique issues.
Martin earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Hobart College in Geneva, New York. He was appointed by the Governor of California to two terms on the California State Advisory Council on Economic Development. He has served on the board of trustees of South Coast Repertory (SCR), Youth Employment Services (YES), the Children's Bureau of Orange County, the Corona del Mar Water Polo Foundation, AYSO Region 57 and the Newport Hills Swim Team. Martin also serves on the Board of Directors of the Pacific Club.
