Melanie helps her clients pursue their financial goals through their working years and into retirement. Joining RBC Wealth Management in 2014, she brings more than 25 years of experience to each relationship.
Melanie strives to apply her understanding of wealth planning to create a strategy that makes sense, is flexible and helps her clients achieve their financial goals. As a financial advisor she believes clients deserve personalized planning, ongoing support and prudent strategies, so she dedicates significant time and resources to understanding clients as individuals and investors.
Melanie works closely with her clients to identify their long-term goals while also considering their current lifestyle. By bringing these elements together, she creates customized plans and strategies that help assure her clients are on the best possible path to meeting their various objectives. With this personalized approach, she takes the time to listen attentively and understand each client's unique situation. This allows her to be a true advisor in their financial journey, providing tailored advice. Her primary focus is delivering the highest level of service and expertise to help her clients succeed.
Committed to ongoing improvement and education, Melanie has earned the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® and CFP®, designations. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland and an MBA from The George Washington University. For personal growth, she is currently pursuing a masters degree in religious studies at the Howard University School of Divinity.
Personal
Melanie is a dedicated member of her local community. She is currently on the investment committee for the Episcopal Diocese of Washington as well as the Investment Committee for her church. In addition, she is on the Board of Visitors for the College of Education at the University of Maryland.
Previously, Melanie was chair of the Community Foundation of Montgomery County as well as on the Board of Trustees for the Greater Washington Community Foundation. She has served as chair, vice chair and board member for the Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce. Melanie has served as the president of her neighborhood association as well as on the finance committee and vestry of her church. She served for several years on the board, including two years as chair of Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area.
Melanie and her husband, Rick, have three grown children and are foster parents in Montgomery County, Maryland.
