I am so proud to celebrate 20 years with RBC Wealth Management.
I started with Ferris, Baker, Watts, Inc. in May 2005. I came to Ferris, Baker, Watts, Inc. to work with my father, Charles Luck. Together we had great complimentary skills. He was a traditional broker, and I was our Certified Financial PlannerTM. Ferris, Baker, Watts, Inc. was subsequently acquired by RBC Wealth Management. While my chair didn't change, the firm's name on the door did in March 2009. And I was very happy with the change.
The biggest question I faced: Wasn’t RBC Wealth Management a Canadian bank? And of course, RBC is a Canadian bank, but RBC Wealth Management is the wholly owned US subsidiary headquartered in Minnesota. In 2017, I successfully helped my father transition to retirement. Through the years, I have trained 4 interns and had 3 assistants. Today our team is stronger than ever.
The culture at RBC Wealth Management focuses on doing what is right for our clients and communities. A client first focus makes wealth planning the keystone of each relationship. I am blessed to be able to work hand in hand with customers to tackle their life and financial goals. Retirement has changed dramatically in the last 20 years. The industry has also changed so much; from transactions to planning, commissions to fees. And now the introduction of AI tools. I thrive on meeting new challenges and finding solutions for my clients.
Besides being my 20th anniversary with the firm, I am also honored to have been awarded the 2024 RBC Global Citizen award. RBC has supported my work with local charities and service organizations.
RBC Wealth Management has also been responsive to my needs as an advisor. I need to stay up to date with trends in planning, communication channels and market insights. The tools, technology and most important the people on our team make working here so much fun. I couldn't imagine working anywhere else.
I am pictured here with my colleague, Mark Cannon. As branch manager of our Wilmington, DE branch, he provides great support and encouragement of my career.
